Expensive trips and private jets, outrageously expensive employee resort retreats, obscene financial waste and excess in the workplace, You would think that I was talking about AIG, the Big Three automakers, or Wall Street CEO’s right? Well you would be wrong I am talking about our own government and sadly I am not the least bit surprised.

How can I be surprised by anything this government does considering all of the spending and waste that has occurred since the last national election where the Dem’s took total control of the White House and both houses of congress as well? My god VP Joe Biden actually believes we need to spend even more money to stay out of bankruptcy.

Well true to Joe “The Gaffe’” Biden’s prophesy there are two more governmental agencies that seem to believe in the democratic dogma of spend, spend, and spend. Now granted in the grand scheme of monstrous government and out of control spending this will seem rather innocuous, but it still prescribes to the disease rather than the cure.

Recently the Social Security Administration spent approximately $700,000 dollars for their agents at a posh Phoenix Arizona resort under the guise of taking care of Social Security business. That price does not even include travel costs incurred by the agency to fly these reps to Arizona.

It is my understanding that all of this business could have been conducted by internet video conferencing, which would have been a lot less expensive. I also understand that this particular resort gave the Social Security Administration the lowest bid for the business but it is still more government waste.

Then there are my favorite financial wizards over at the Fed who have just hired a whole slew of cartoonists to help raise moral and lessen stress in their workplace. I wonder who the genius was that thought up this ridiculously wasteful and useless idea. I know a lot of people in stressful jobs and they all say this won’t work.

You almost have to wonder what’s next don’t you? Maybe it will be a court jester czar for the Barry and the White House staff. Or maybe it will be a stand up comedian for the senate because Al “The Weenie” Franken hasn’t been funny since they invented fire and the wheel. Whatever it is I am sure that it will provide comic relief for the tax payer.

That’s it for now from Simple Man Politics my friends. I think I’m going to call it a day and go watch the Wiggles with my son because I am sure it will relieve my stress and provide me with some comic relief. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend CIAO4NOW!!!!!

Welcome to the Tuesday edition of Simple Man Politics. I think from now on I am going to make Tuesday “Tim’s Targets Tuesdays”. I think I need to do this at least once a week because I can always find some political idiot out there who will qualify for the title. It just so happens that I happen to have a particular target picked out for todays post to and todays target is none other than our un-esteemed Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi (D-CA).

This thing that is loosely referred to as a lady was a thorn in the side of former President George W, Bush and now serves at the behest and probable displeasure of our current Commander in Grief Barack Obama. Even though I am sure he likes the fact that this witch supports all of his wacko socialist policies and programs he probably can’t stand her and her trouble making ways. My god the only differences between Nancy Pelosi and Joe Biden are anatomy and the fact that Joe actually believes what he says.

Now in addition to her ramming her poison agenda down the throats of the American tax payers she has also managed to put her hoofs in her horses’ mouth. You may ask well how did this happen and I will tell you. Quite simply she lied and not once or twice but over and over and over again about what she knew about enhanced interrogation techniques. Not only that but she blamed anyone she could think of that she thought wouldn’t defend themselves, while never once taking responsibility for what she really did know.

After the original memos on these techniques were released by the White House she attacked the CIA for not only knowing about and using the techniques but for not informing her they were used as well and the CIA proved that wrong. Then she said she had been briefed once that they might be used, but not that they were in use. The CIA promptly released memos showing she was at the briefings that were given on the usage of the techniques and the results and was rebuffed by the current Director of CIA Leon Panetta.

As a result of all of this she then said she blamed the Bush administration and its lawyers not CIA for any deception and got a face full of former Vice President Dick Cheney for that statement. In addition to having had to endure being rebuffed by Leon Panetta and Dick Cheney she has since been proven a liar by others who were in the same meetings with her. What she should have done was apologize and keep her B.S. dispenser shut but she just seems to like being knee deep in her own cesspool of controversy.

I really hope for the sake of the American people both in her district in California and nationally that she is so discredited and humiliated that she loses the Speakership of the House of Representatives and ultimately her congressional seat in 2010. Unfortunately for the American people shit really does float to the top and this piece has too much buoyancy.

That is all of my rant for today and I hope I got it all off of my chest for now with her. However I am sure she will do something else very soon to deserve my ire again. I hope you all have a terrific Tuesday my friends CIAO4NOW!!!!!

Here’s a HUMP DAY post for you my friends and it’s about Senator Arlen Specter (R-RINO = Republican In Name Only) who is trying to hump the Republican Party by joining the Democratic Party. However this does not come as to big of a surprise to me because he sides with the Democratic Party on most issues.

Arlen Specters move to switch parties is obviously an attempt to hold on to his Pennsylvania Senate seat because he doesn’t believe that he could win in a Republican primary election against another candidate from his own party.

He realized his seat wasn’t safe after he voted against card check and didn’t get the recognition he wanted. I guess he didn’t realize that supporting President Obama’s stimulus package and budget was that unpopular within the Republican Party.

It is also not that much of a surprise to me that the Democratic Party will welcome Arlen Specter to their ranks. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D) has been trying to recruit Specter for more than five years as have other high ranking Democrat Party members such as Vice President Joe Biden.

The Dem’s want Specter more than ever now considering they hold 58 seats in the Senate and almost have a filibuster proof majority. Arlen Specters membership into the Democratic Party would give them 59 seats with Minnesota still undecided and Joe Biden’s vote would be their 60th vote allowing the Democrats to possibly avoid a filibuster.

Considering the fact that I am not Republican or Democrat I can personally say that I really don’t care if Arlen Specter jumps parties or not. Yes it will be a big loss to the GOP, but I think that the GOP is better of without him. Let’s face it the Republicans could never count on his vote anyway because they never knew where he would fall on one side of an issue or another.

As far as Arlen Specters political career is concerned I don’t really believe that he has one past the 2010 mid-term elections even as a Democrat. Both houses of congress have piss poor approval ratings particularly on the Democrat sides of both congressional houses and those ratings continue to slide down further. Even a poll taken today showed Obama’s approval ratings at an all time low.

The last thing I have to say about Arlen Specters jump to the Democratic Party and his mid-term election for his Senate seat next year is it’s a good thing because now a true conservative Republican Pat Toomey will win the GOP primary vote and go on to defeat Specter or any Democratic nominee in the general election.

That is the way I see this situation playing out let me know what you think. Have a wonderful Wednesday my friends and I will see you all tomorrow CIAO4NOW!!!!!

Well here it is midway through the week and it has been a week filled with a lot of activity in the political arena. Unfortunately I believe most of it is not going to be good for our country. Although the democrats would like all of us to believe otherwise I just can’t help but feel like we are on a roller coaster ride with no brakes and a steep fall into oblivion at the end. I know, I know I sound like the doom and gloom guy Instead of Obama this time, but everything seems to be pointing me in that direction.

On Monday we had Eric Holder down at Guantanamo taking a look at the detention facility there. After his tour and meetings with the chain of command for both the detention facility and the base he said in an interview with the press that the facility was run very professionally and is doing a great job. However he also said that even though they are doing a great job hew would close the Gitmo detention facility any way, which means those wonderful terrorists could be coming soon to a prison on US soil near you. These are just the people we need right here in our homeland.

National Intelligence Director Dennis Blair also told the House Intelligence Committee that Guantanamo Naval Base should be closed just because we are not popular the world over, and those countries won’t deal with us. What I want to know is when did we forego our nation’s security just for the sake of international popularity. I guess we really don’t need our first line of defense and the warning system it is responsible for.

Of course there is also Barack Obama’s great speech before both houses of congress last night where he pled with the nation to support him and his massive spending porkulus bill. He tried to tell everyone that without going into debt to the Chinese even more and without spending billions on products not scheduled to begin before 2010 that we could not stimulate the economy now. I am trying to figure out how that is supposed to work still.

As if the first 800+ Billion Dollars wasn’t enough the lower house of congress approves another 410 Billion Dollars today for domestic programs increasing entitlements and the entitlement mentality. That’s right instead of the American people doing what they have always done, which is pick themselves back up, brush themselves off, and get back down to business the Democrats are going to save them all by doing it for them.

On a lighter note though our vaunted and fearless VP Joe Biden pulled off yet another gaffe in an interview CBS’ “Early Show”. This gaffe was in the techie field of the internet. While discussing the stimulus bill he told viewers to check out a government run website tracking stimulus spending. He did admit that he was embarrassed that he didn’t know the sites number and asked an aide if they had the number. Hmmmm I didn’t know websites had numbers. As most web savvy people are aware websites are identified by their URLs or addresses even thought hey do use a number system and are identified by their numeric IP address. I just found it funny that the most web savvy administration would have an official who thought the web worked like a telephone.

That is all for now and I hope you enjoy the Biden gaffe video. See you all later, CIAO4NOW!!!!!

Wow who ever thought that our eloquent Vice President Joe (The Gaff) Biden would be a conservative. On February 6th 2009 at the Democratic Leadership Retreat told his listeners that no matter what they do, they have a 30% chance of getting it wrong. I definitely think that this is a conservative estimate and I will tell you why.

When you take into account the tax cheat we have running the US Treasury, the socialist we have as the Global Warming Czar, the new crapulous bill.

There is also the fact that Iran is jazzed about our new President, the possibility of what they call fair diplomacy and their supposed new superpower status making them equal to us on the world stage.

Not to mention all of the Gitmo controversy going on and I would say that they stand a 100% chance of getting it wrong, which is still a conservative but almost liberal estimate falling more into line with a liberals point of view. Who would have ever thought that Joe Biden actually had a talent for understatement, certainly not I.

I hope you all have an excellent day. I will be back soon, CIAO4NOW!!!!!

There are a couple of different topics I want to discuss with you today. They are both on different subjects but are directly related to a particular party specifically. One topic is on racism and the other is on national security/foreign policy.I will discuss them in this order to.

The first thing I want to talk about today is the subject of racism. Racism is a very ugly thing and it can be associated with and attributed to many different motivations and actions. In the case I am going to cite it is attributed to ignorance and associated with the hate of a group of peoples own color, in other words they hate their own color. This form of self hate I believe is racism in reverse against their own kind.

This story starts with a twelve year old middle school student in New Smyrna Beach Florida and her name is Ashleigh Jones. The reason she is being called a racist by her classmates is because she wore a pro Sarah Palin t-shirt to school. she received the t-shirt as a gift for her volunteer work at her local Republican office by her co workers. The argument by her peers is that she is a Caucasian in support Caucasian candidates in this years Presidential election she must be racist. I find this reasoning to be disturbing for a number of reasons.

First, and most importantly I don't think that being a Caucasian supporter of a Caucasian candidate makes you a racist, because if that is true then Colin Powell is a black racist for supporting a black candidate in Barack Obama. Sounds about right to me, what do you think?

Second, I don't know how anyone could blindly level such a charge against this young lady when she has never evidenced any racial bias towards any ethnic group. This is according to people who have known her in the community.

The third reason this is disturbing to me is that the majority of the student body at New Smyrna Beach Middle School is Caucasian, not to mention the fact that this is also true of most of the population of this beach side town. I know this because I have spent quite some time in the past surfing that beach and I know quite a few people there. This appears to me to be the reverse racism against their ethnicity that I mentioned. this argument seems to prevalent within the Democratic Party on all levels. Who would have thought that the party who says they are for the people could be so hateful. they believe that if you vote against Obama its because of race and not because you believe him to be the wrong man for the job. One of my favorite restaurants is there to so I'm going to give a shout out and a shameless plug for J.D.'s Fish Camp they have the best grilled swordfish I have ever eaten.

My other topic for today is about something Joe Biden the Democrat Vice Presidential Nominee said on Sunday, which I didn't cover in my Monday post "Weekend Update". Biden was speaking to a group of donors on Sunday and made the comment that in the first six months of an Obama Presidency there would be an international crisis that would test Obama. he went on to say that they would all have to stand behind Obama because it might not look like he made the right response when dealing with the crisis.

This bothers me if for no other reason that I think Joe Biden is right. I think that Obama will be tested because he is an unknown and no one knows how he would react. Every Jihadist, Al Qaeda, Hamas, and Hezbollah website I can find supports Barack Obama for President. Can that be because they perceive him to be week? I don't think it is because they think he will do what is right for our country.

This is also a concern to me because of some of Obama's past associations with people like al-Monsour and Khalidi. One is a self professed radical Muslim and the other has ties to Hamas and used to raise funds for them right here in the good ole US of A. Let us not forget his good friend Calypso Louie Louis Farrakhan the leader of the Nation of Islam. it makes the possibility of international crisis or attack against us all the more likely with the people who apparently support Obama.

Any way that is all I have to say for today. It's just a little food for thought, with maybe a pearl of wisdom or two thrown in for good measure. Y'all have a good day and I will see you again tomorrow CIAO4NOW!!!!!

P.S.By the way I'm still waiting for some suggestions from you guys, on what I should write about on Friday.

The VP Debate

Hello everybody I thought i would go ahead and get today's post out early. As you know the Vice Presidential debate was on last night and this is what I'm going to discuss today so lets get started.

1st let me congratulate Gwen Ifill on a job well done I knew she would do the job of moderating the debate professionally. I thought she had a great group of questions to ask the candidates and I thought she was very fair with how she asked the questions and in how she treated the candidates so kudos to her.

With regards to Joe Biden I thought he did a very good job last night and I thought he proved that if he had to step in to the office of President of the United States he was ready to do so. I think he did a very good job of defending his tickets policies and defending Barack Obama as well. He is obviously a man with considerable experience in the arena of politics as last night proves.

As for Sarah Palin we all knew that this was to be a sort of consensus on her and her abilities to perform her duties and to step into the shoes as President should the need arise. I think she showed herself to be more than capable of performing her duties and educable enough to learn to be President if the need to do so arose. It was obvious to me and a few others I know that she is truly a Washington outsider and that was refreshing. It was very smart of her to point out that she has only been in national politics for five weeks and to say to both Biden and Ifill that she wasn't going to answer the questions the way the wanted her to but would speak directly to the people. I also think that she did a very good job of keeping McCains name in the forefront of her answers and comments.

Overall I think the debate was very well run, moderated, and showed the difference in policies between the two tickets. I also think that both candidates made statements that were not exactly true but were not serious enough to do either candidate or ticket any harm. Was there a game changer for either party in the debate last night I don't think so. In my overall view of the debate though I would have to say that the debate was a clear win for Sarah Palin and the McCain/Palin ticket. That is all I have for today.....so far. If they manage to pass a bailout bill for Wall Street I may have to comment on that. Otherwise have a grand weekend and I will see you all on Monday, CIAO4NOW!!!!!

Hello all my friends, I hope this finds you all well. Normally I would not be posting another blog so quickly, because I have just posted one. However, with Labor Day coming up, the fact that I won’t be around, and John McCain making his Vice Presidential pick the day after the Democratic National Convention, the very convention where Barack Obama and Joe Biden accepted their party’s nomination for President and Vice President, I feel it is necessary for me to write this blog post today. Also the next post will be on Wednesday during the Republican National Convention.

Early Friday morning August 29, 2008, the McCain campaign indicated that he had made his VP pick. Some of those considered to be on the short list like Mitt Romney and Tim Pawlenty indicated that they were not the nominee that McCain had picked and that they had no knowledge of who the pick was. Shortly there after John McCain announced that his pick was Sarah Palin, the female Republican Governor of the state of Alaska. On the heels of the Democratic National Convention, where Barack Obama became the first black American, to be nominated by a major party for President, a party that also could have had the first woman nominee for President in Hillary Clinton, this was a major shock to all the media and political insiders. It also prompted an instant attack by Obama and company. They automatically attacked her for being to young, having no foreign policy experience, and having a special needs child instead of an abortion, how nice.

Sara Palin has not been in politics very long. She was raised in a middle class home, her parents both working for a school in Sand Point, Idaho. Her mother was the school secretary, and her father was a science teacher and track coach.

Sarah attended high school at Wasilla High School in Alaska where she played on the girl’s basketball team, and was their captain and a fierce point guard earning the nickname Sarah Barracuda. She also led the Fellowship of Christian Athletes there as well.

In 1984 Palin won the Miss Wasilla beauty contest, and finished second in the Miss Alaska pageant where she won a college scholarship. She now holds a bachelors degree in journalism from the University of Idaho, and a minor in political science.

Her career scope is pretty varied. She worked as a sports reporter for local Anchorage television stations while at the same time working as a commercial fisherwoman with her husband whom she married on August 29, 1988.

In 1992 Sarah Palin began her career in politics. Running for city council in Wasilla, as a supporter of a controversial new sales tax, she served two consecutive terms on the council. In 1996 she defeated the incumbent mayor of Wasilla where she served two consecutive terms as well. Sarah Palin was also elected President of the Alaska Conference of Mayors. In 2002 Palin lost a bid for Lt Governor to Loren Leman. Palin received an appointment to the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission where she served from 2003 to 2004 when she resigned in protest of fellow Alaskan Republican leaders for what she claimed was a lack of ethics. In 2006 Palin won the gubernatorial election for Governor in Alaska defeating incumbent Governor Murkowski running on a clean government campaign. On August 29, 2008, Sarah Palin was named as the Republican Vice Presidential nominee by John McCain for the party.

All in all I would say that Mrs. Palin has had a remarkable life for someone from the middle class. She is really just a normal everyday regular Joe type. Make no mistake about it though I think she is an excellent choice for VP and very dangerous to the Democratic ticket for the White House. She has a little bit of legislative experience in her city council terms, and a lot more executive experience in her two terms as a Mayor and her first term as Governor in Alaska, which I think makes her more than qualified to be in the White House with regard to executive experience versus Obama. As far as experience in commanding the military she is currently the Commander in Chief of the Alaska National Guard. She also has some experience with dealing with foreign nations as ships from many countries dock at Alaska’s ports. But I am sure she will leave foreign policy to John McCain who has approximately 26 years in that arena, as well as dealing with issues of the military, and intelligence. As far as the economy and the budget goes with Palin’s executive experience, and McCain’s legislative experience I think they have that very well covered.

I hope you all have a grand weekend, and an awesome labor day, and I will see you on Wednesday to talk about the Republican National Convention. I hope you guy’s enjoy the video too, CIAO4NOW!!!!!

P.S. Check out this new site I found. http://politics4conservativewomen.blogspot.com/

Hey my friends, how are you all doing today? This, thank God, is the last post of the week, and last night was the last night of the Democratic National Convention. This post is going to be dedicated to the three speeches given by Bill Clinton, Joe Biden, and Barack Obama. I will try to make this short, sweet, and to the point. If you all are ready now, I’ll begin.

Let’s begin with Bill Clinton’s speech. I will have to admit that every time he stands up and gives a speech I am awestruck by the way he commands the stage and works the crowd. The ultimate ring master, Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Circus could not have put on a better show. The speech was approximately 30 minutes in length and Bill used every second of it to spread the Democrat message. He spoke about Hillary’s run for the Presidential nomination of the party and how proud he was of her. He also spoke about Obama, his character, and his qualifications to be President. He spoke to the lunch pail voters and the women voters who were Hillary’s back bone and wove for them a utopian vision with Obama and the Democrats in power. Of course there was your usual attack of the Republicans and John McCain, while saying that he liked and respected him. All in all it was the quintessential democrat speech, thoroughly motivational, full of holes and half truths, and at least one or two omissions of the truth. It was definitely the best of three speeches we are discussing.

What can I say about Joe Biden and his speech? You got to like the guy - the poorest Senator in Washington. He is a working class guy, born in Scranton, PA, fought is way up and along the way had a failed campaign for the Presidential nomination of his party and has spent the last 30 years in the Senate where he represents the state of Delaware. Now Joe is the Vice Presidential nominee for his party, and his acceptance speech was everything you would expect to hear from him. He gave the usual Democrat speech supporting all of their pet causes, praising Hillary, her run, and how great a friendship they possess. Of course there were the pre requisite attacks against the Republicans, and John McCain, while at the same time admitting he respected McCain and called him a friend. He also swore his oath of fealty to Barack Obama, and even went so far as to say he was infinitely more qualified to be President than John McCain. A very flat speech though, so it gets the #3 spot of the Gentlemen who spoke on Wednesday and Thursday evenings.

Last, but most certainly not least, the anointed one - Barack Obama. Obama’s speech said everything we expected it to, from how the Democrats know better than the Republicans, to four more years under McCain is the same as the last eight years we got from the Bush administration. He said he would end the war in Iraq, and put more resources in to Afghanistan. He renewed his support for abortion rights, and universal healthcare, and the party’s energy plan. He spoke of tax cuts for the middle class, his support of organized labor, and he spoke of closing the tax loop holes for corporations who make massive windfall profits, and doing the same to small business, and entrepreneurs. He also discussed the great campaign that Hillary Rodham Clinton ran for the party Presidential nomination. Last of all, he discussed how the Republicans have it all wrong, only the Democrats know what is right, and that while John McCain might be a decorated war hero, and a patriot who loves his country, he is out of touch with the American people, and that he (Barack) is more qualified to lead the nation with his vast experience. A very well thought out and prepared speech, better than Biden’s, but not as good as Clinton's. Just like the others, it is full of holes and full of omissions of the truth. This speech is definitely #2 of the three speeches we have heard from this men in the last two days.

In closing I would just like to say, that I thought their effort to unify their party was admirable and to some extent successful. However I don’t think they made their case as well as they would have liked. I don’t think that there is as much unity as they like, and I can’t help but wonder how much their proposed utopian society is going to cost us when it comes time to pay for it. It IS going to cost, and cost at least billions of dollars. That can mean only one thing - raise taxes, and then spend the money…it’s the Democrat way. Have a great day, and a wonderful weekend, and to all of my US readers have a wonderful Labor Day to, ciao4now!!!!!

Enjoy the video!!!!!

Hey ya’ll, how are you doing today? I hope this finds all of you healthy, wealthy, wise, and happy, or at least three of the four. As I told you on Monday I was going to do a piece on Joe Biden today. However, with what I saw yesterday and today with Michelle Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton, I think I should dedicated today’s blog to them and their speeches at the Democratic National Convention. I will start with Mrs. Obama first and finish with Mrs. Clinton so lets get started.

Monday’s speech by Michelle Obama was definitely a spectacle to behold. Mrs. Obama was turned out in an elegant green dress, (my favorite color) her hair shining, and smiling at the crowd as she took her place at the podium. She spoke of her time with Barack, their working their way through school, her children, her family, and the values she was raised with, and those that her husband, and herself are raising their daughters with. She spoke of the problems most of us face like paying the bills, worrying about health insurance for the family, and worrying about their children’s education, portraying themselves as normal everyday people who understand the plight of the normal everyday working/middle class people who make up the vast majority of this great nation. It was quite a picture of their history that she painted for all of us to see. It was something I could respect having been there and done that myself.

After that she started speaking about healthcare and education and all I could hear was the talking points of the campaign it reminded me of Barack’s stump speech and I was very much surprised to hear what I was hearing then I was saddened then angered. I thought to myself that she had successfully woven this image of Barack as the patriarch of his family, of how he drove home with their new born daughter in his arms, and in the next instant she was talking about the government assuming the role of patriarch, his role for the family, by supplying healthcare for everyone of us, and how everyone should get a free college education on the government, basically a land of entitlements. As all of this passed before my eyes and ears I started to notice that she wasn’t really looking at the cameras to much or at other people, that she wasn’t comfortable on stage, or how it was so obvious she was reading from a teleprompter, and how at the end she had to cajole her children to talk to their father on the monitor. Then it hit me, she knew she was lying about what she had said and how she felt and last but not least that she hadn’t really given her husband that much of an endorsement. It was a good speech but in the end I don’t think it was as convincing as they had hoped.

Tuesday night I watched Hillary’s speech and I watched it very closely because of what I saw Monday night from Mrs. Obama. Hillary was cool, crisp, and very much at the top of her game. She spoke of her family and bills family, of raising Chelsea as well as talking of her and bills time in college, working within the Democratic party, Bills governorship in Arkansas, their time in the white House, and her time as Senator for the state of New York. She was very eloquent about her run for the party nomination for President this year, and all the barriers that have been battered down to get her there. She spoke the usual talking points as well about McCain being four more years of Bush’s eight years and all that entails in the Democratic Party view, and she spoke of party unity attempting to bring her supporters into line behind Obama. She did all that was expected of her and she did it well. I think though, that she fell short in her endeavors, and not for lack of trying. Through out her entire thirty minute speech she only mentioned Barack ten times, which I think was not near enough, and as sincere as she attempted to sound, I don’t think she came off as truly sincere. For all of that though she was infinitely better at the microphone than Mrs. Obama.

The early polls for both of these speakers have indicated that neither one of them was as successful as the Democratic Party had hoped and that complete unity at this time has not been achieved by either one of them and at the end of their respective nights neither one of them had proved Barack’s qualifications to lead this country. Look out because William Jefferson Clinton and Joe Biden speak tonight so no one knows what will happen. I think it will all be up to Barack Obama to sell himself to us on Thursday night. I don’t think he can do it by himself.

Have a great day and I will see you all on Friday for the wrap up of the DNC, CIAO4NOW!!!!!!

Hello everybody it's time for another installment of Simple Man Politics. I hope you had a great weekend. This week we have the Democratic National Convention taking place in the mile high city of Denver, Colorado, so this weeks posts are going to be dedicated to Barack Obama, his Vice Presidential pick, Joe Biden, and their party’s and member’s direction through the convention, and beyond. Today we are going to concentrate on Obama. Are you all ready to get started? I am, so let's do it.

We all know that Barack Obama was a nobody when he threw his hat in the ring for his party’s nomination for President in the 2008 race for the White House. He got his start in politics as a community organizer and eventually moved up to state senator for eight years in the state of Illinois. Then he moved up to the US Senate where he is a first term senator, but it was only a short time before he decided to run for President of the United States. His first step into the national spotlight came at the 2004 Democratic National Convention where he gave the keynote speech to the party for the Kerry/Edwards ticket.

Since Barack Obama announced his bid for the Party nomination on Febuary 10, 2007, he has come from virtual obscurity to being his party’s Presidential nominee. He has dispatched his opponents handily, including the then presumptive front runner Hillary Rodham Clinton, who hung on until every last state and delegate was counted. He did this by saying that he was against the war in Iraq from the beginning, saying it was the hardest decision of his political career. He also stated that he is in full support of Roe v Wade, nationalized health care, levying more taxes on the wealthy, supports tighter gun control legislation, and no more drilling or discovering our own domestic sources of energy. Obama also said that he was for invading Pakistan if Osama Bin Laden is located there.

Obama’s meteoric rise to superstar status within the Democratic Party hasn’t been with out incident. First there was his association with the racist and possibly anti Semitic Reverend Jeremiah Wright, whom Obama claimed was his mentor for many years, while claiming he never knew the good reverends views on race and nation. Next came his apparent relationship with the Weather Undergrounds very own Bill Ayers, a homegrown terrorist who is proud of the bombings against the US by his organization, and who says his only wish was that they could have done more. Let us not forget Obama’s own wife the charming Michelle Obama who claims that she had never been proud of her country until her husband won the Democratic Party nomination, and also said the United States was a very mean country.

Then after all of that, he picks as a Vice Presidential running mate, Joe Biden, who not even two weeks ago stated that Obama didn’t have the experience or seasoning it took to be President of these United States. Last but not least, lest we forget, Obama has a problem with Americans clinging to their god and guns, and cannot even give a straight answer on any issue. His favorite words seem to be "um", and "uh", and words of that nature - befitting of a man with a Harvard education?

Well there you have him, Barack Hussein Obama in a nutshell. I don’t understand how the war in Iraq could be one of his hardest decisions when he wasn’t even a US Senator at the time the war was commenced. As for his stance with regard to the myriad of other issues he says he supports, they all just prove him to be your typical tax and spend democrat, and don’t for one minute think your taxes won’t be raised, because if he gets elected and rolls back the Bush tax cuts your taxes will surely go up. As for universal health care, that along with his views on taxation and the economy, only proves to me once again that he is a committed socialist, and committed to the idea that he knows better than you what is good for you. One more thing, on the subject of energy…drill here, drill now, and help keep our country secure, and explore all the different types of energy like natural gas, wind, geothermal, and nuclear, its just good simple politics.

That’s all I have to say on the subject of the Democratic Presidential Nominee Barack Hussein Obama. Like I always say though, while I report the facts to you, you still have to decide for yourself. I hope you all have a great day and I will see you all on Wednesday, CIAO4NOW!!!!!

Check out this cool video my significant other made!!!!!
