As you all know by now there was a tragic shooting here in Tucson, Arizona over the weekend, in which congressperson Gabrielle Giffords was shot and several people died including a federal judge. These people were attacked by a young man who seems to be mentally disturbed, and who acted on his own as evidence coming out seems to indicate. The evidence also indicated that Gabrielle Giffords was his intended target, but does not explain why he continued shooting after Giffords was shot. However, nowhere in the evidence does politics appear to play a part, but politics will play a part in all of this.
The politics of tragedy are often times strong and emotional responses to situations where a person or a group of people are hurt or wronged for no good reason, and there is no immediate answer as to why they were. Those people who are touched by these tragedies can be anybody who witnesses the tragedy or who has an emotional investment in those who suffered the tragedy, and sometimes they will react drastically to this kind of situation. These people will often say things that seem drastic, irrational, and even hateful while under duress, but they deserve a pass because they need the emotional release.
Then there are people who will use any opportunity to further their agenda, and they do not really care whether a given situation is even germane to their political beliefs and agendas. These are the people that you will have to watch closely and be sure to protect yourselves against, because they will attempt to take from you your civil liberties, rights, and freedoms in the name national security and your best interest. All of this is unfortunately true with regard to this past Saturday’s tragic assassination of Gabrielle Giffords and the collateral murders associated with it.
Of course, not all political moves with regards to the Tucson shooting are bad things. The House of Representatives and the Republican leadership in particular did a good thing by suspending house business in light of Saturdays shooting rampage by 22yr old Jared Loughner. However, there seems to be some renewed effort to attack both the 1st and 2nd amendments to the constitution and in that order too, and this I believe is not a good thing or good politics. Neither is the attempt to link the lunatic to the Tea Party, the Republican Party, or conservatives in general because that just is not true.
What is true is that this guy is a seriously disturbed and whom evidence says lives in his own little world. However, some now want to pass legislation against using any speech that might inflame people’s emotions and especially the emotions of those with mental problems. The problem with this is that they are crazy and no one can determine how someone like that will react to what someone says. They also are now looking to pass more gun legislation in light of the attack and that means restricting law abiding citizens gun rights even more than they already are, which is also a bad move.
What really should be taken into consideration in light of this past weekends events is how to best secure our elected officials when they are speaking in a public forum. I also agree with some that think it should be a federal offense to attack these elected officials who represent the people that put them in office. I also sincerely believe that our 1st and 2nd amendment rights should not be infringed upon simply because of the actions of one lone individual. Without free speech and free press the truth will be much harder to ferret out in the future, and without gun rights we will be one step closer to subjects rather than free citizens.
That is all I have for you today, but I will be back again although I hope it will be under lighter circumstances than this one. My prayers go out to the Giffords family and to the families of those who lost loved ones on that fateful Saturday morning. I can only hope that cooler heads will ultimately prevail when it comes time for the collective national mind to deal with this tragedy legally and legislatively and that no one has their rights to the American dream restricted even further. I hope you all have a Marvelous Monday and a wonderful week, take care my friends, CIAO4NOW!!!!!
That is right less than 40 days until Washington D.C. is flooded with the corpses of the political careers that once belonged to incumbent Senators and Representatives who forgot who they were working for. I for one cannot wait to see all of that filth and detritus washed away from the facade of our nation’s capital so that it can start once again become the shining light of our republic. Once that happens it may again become a beacon of hope for those who really do treasure the ideas of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
Actually, it is only 35 days until the mid-term elections and both of the major political parties are seeing a major shake up occur right before their eyes with the national electorate. That is right I said both parties because I do not believe that either one of them will be immune to the havoc that may be wreaked upon their ranks. For to long they have made up the rules to the game as they went along and believed that politics as usual was not going to become a crime that they would have to answer for. Unfortunately, for them their time has appeared to have run out, and judgment day is coming for them.
I believe that the party that is going to pay the most for past legislative transgressions is going to be the Democratic Party. I think that in this case while they may not be to blame for everything that has happened they do deserve the lion’s share of the blame. They saw the election of Barack Hussein Obama as a green light to push his and their agendas and went for it, even though the bulk of it was against the will of most people in the country. The fact that TARP, corporate bailouts, Obamacare, and the first stimulus did not work proves that they should have listened to the voters, because we are not stupid.
For the record, the Republican Party is also to blame for much of the trouble in Washington D.C. as well, and in particular those lovely legislators known as the RINO’s. Those Republicans In Name Only have also helped to perpetuate these legislative assaults against the American people. They tell us during elections that they are fiscal conservatives who believe in small government, low taxes, and the constitution. Then when they are elected, they throw their constituents under the bus. Their wake up call is that wonderfully robust grass roots movement known as the Tea Party.
After tons of research on my part from many different sources, both within the parties and independently, I have concluded that the Democrats are going to lose and lose big too. I think that the Dem’s will lose as many as 40 seats in the lower house and may even lose 10 seats in the Senate. While this will certainly tip the balance of power in both houses, I do not think that the GOP will be the same after November 2nd either, because of the possibility that some of those Tea Party candidates who have won Republican primaries will be seated also and they will want to push a true conservative agenda.
As a fiscal conservative, I can only hope that all of this will happen, because our continued existence as both a free market economy and a democracy depend upon these epic changes taking place. I am not saying that the federal government does not have a role to play in our lives, but it should be a limited role based strictly upon that historic document known as the US Constitution. I also believe that the daily governance of America’s people should be relegated to the states where it was intended to be in the first place. I for one do not wish to see the American Dream become just a memory.
I only have one other thing to say to all of you my friends and that is no matter what side you are on, or what you believe, please get out there and vote. Vote because that is how we control those we have elected and show them who is boss, because they work for us not the other way around. I hope you all have enjoyed this post and I am sorry it has taken so long for me to write anything, but I have been waiting for the home stretch of the mid-terms and it is here and I will write more. I hope you all have a great day and Simple Man Politics will be back very soon, CIAO4NOW!!!!!
Is the ground Zero Mosque an Arab/Islamic Coupe de Grace or is it the next Christian Crusade? I will honestly tell you that at this point I do not know which it is, but either one is not only scary, but extremely dangerous as well. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that this is a seriously emotional issue and that both sides of this issue are running on emotional highs too. I for one have mixed emotions about the notion of placing any mosque so close to Ground Zero, but I also do not have as much of a connection to the site compared to those people who live there and have lost loved ones on 9/11.
I for one have very serious views and beliefs with regard to the free practice of religion. I believe in the freedom of religion, because religion, the Judeo Christian ethic in particular, and the freedom to practice our religion without persecution are a large part of why we fought for our independence. The freedom to practice religion without persecution is also one of the main reasons that so many have immigrated to our shores too, and I cannot say freedom for me, but not for them in this matter, because I am not a hypocrite. I am however, a true red, white, and blue born and bred American.
Because of my American heritage, and ultra patriotic beliefs I do have a very real problem with the idea of putting this particular Mosque, sponsored by Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, who believes that we as a nation should be Sharia Law compliant, rather than secular with regard to the law of our land. I also understand that he has beliefs about certain elements within Islam that run counter to our national security interests as well. Now I want you to know that I weep for the loss of Muslim life on 9/11 the same as I do for all of the lives lost on that dreadful day, and I mean all of those lost souls.
I am sure that whoever reads this post is going to have their own ideas and beliefs about whether or not there should be a Mosque built at Ground Zero. Whatever you do just don’t use the argument that Muslims do not have enough space in New York to pray, because there are many Mosques there as well as one near Ground Zero already. One more thing and that is that we should not grant the Muslim Islamofascists any thing that they can represent to their followers as a victory against the west and Christianity. If I have to choose between a Muslim Coupe de Grace and a Christian crusade I choose the Crusade.
Well that is about all I have to say about this subject for now, but I am sure that I will be back here Simple Man Politics again soon with something else to talk about and my own opinion on whatever it is too. If you feel like commenting about this on my blog site, feel free to do so as long as there is no vulgarity, hate, or ignorance in your comment it will be posted regardless of whether or not we agree. I hope you all have a wonderful, happy, and prosperous week and until next time my friends CIAO4NOW!!!!!
It most certainly is the end of an era particularly on the Senate side of Congress. Earlier this morning in a hospital in Fairfax, VA, Senator Robert Byrd (D) WV passed away. You heard me right the pork king, former KKK member, and ultimate senatorial power player has finally passed away after becoming the longest serving and eldest member of the Senate body. However, I cannot just say negative things about Bob I have to say something good about the man too, because I am sure, he had to have done some good, or why else would he be undefeated in every election he ran in.
One good thing I can say about Mr. Byrd is the fact the he was a stalwart defender of the U.S. Constitution and recognized as the foremost authority on matters of constitution within the U.S. Senate. Another good thing I can say about Senator Byrd is the fact that he fiercely defended the right of both the Senate and the House of Representatives to keep any Presidential administration from usurping any Congressional powers. That is right it did not matter whether the President was a Republican or a Democrat he kept their hand out of the cookie jar.
Make no mistake though Robert Byrd is most certainly a Democrat although at one time he was considered the most conservative of that party. What does the loss of Byrd mean politically though? I do not think it means much since the Governor of West Virginia will appoint a person to replace Byrd until the 2012 election and the Governor is a Democrat. However, it does lose a critical vote for the ruling Democratic Party in the Senate for a bit, and it also puts on hold legislation that both the administration as well as the majority party in both houses of Congress consider necessary to advance their agenda.
My personal opinion is that now that Robert Byrd has passed away that the U.S. Senate will lose some of its prestige. However considering the current political climate after the mid-term elections this year I do not think that either Byrd’s Senate seat and vote would have mattered anyway. What does matter with regard to the passing of the Senates greatest orator is that both houses of Congress have lost their greatest and toughest defender. I think that not only will the administration now attempt to gain control even more, but also I think that the Democrats in the Senate will further slip into mediocrity.
That is all for now form Simple Man Politics, but I will be back again soon. Have a marvelous Monday my friends, CIAO4NOW!!!!!
P.S. Rest in Peace Mr. Byrd.
You all know the 1992 movie Distinguished Gentleman starring Eddie Murphy who plays a con man that swindles his way into congress on name recognition. Well it appears that we may actually have a real life story that echoes the movie playing out right now in South Carolina. The candidate's name is Alvin Greene and absolutely no one knew who this guy was until after the dust of the Democratic Party primary for Republican incumbent Jim DeMint’s senate seat had settled.
Once it had become apparent that this man had won the Democratic primary to challenge DeMint for the seat Democrat Party officials began to urge Mr. Greene to quit the race against DeMint possibly to install their own and probably well known candidate in his place. Some of the Democratic Party’s top lawmakers have even gone as far as to suggest that Mr. Greene is a Republican plant to stop opposition against DeMint who is seeking another term in the Senate.
Alvin Greene is an unemployed military veteran who is a citizen of the state of South Carolina. There have also been reports that Mr. Greene has been charged with a felony involving a college student and pornographic material. Mr. Green who is unemployed has also paid out more than $10,000 to enter the senate race and contends that it was his own money. House Majority Whip James Clyburn (D) has accused Mr. Greene of accepting the money from an as yet unknown contributor and should be federally investigated.
In an interview Mr. Greene was asked how he had won and replied that South Carolinians were able to relate to him more so than to his opponent Vic Rawl (D). That may be true for all we know, or maybe I can suggest an alternative reason for Mr. Greene winning the Tuesday Primary. Maybe Mr. Alvin Greene won purely on name recognition. Maybe more South Carolina Democrats like singer Albert Greene’s (Al Green) voice more than Vic Rawls message.
Whatever the reasons were for Alvin Greene winning the Democratic Primary in South Carolina, Mr. Green has flatly stated that he will not withdraw from the race much to the chagrin and consternation of Dem Party officials in the state. I say more power to the guy since he obviously doesn’t reek of Washington politics and business as usual inside the beltway. I will also say that if the Dem’s in South Carolina are dumb enough or smart enough to vote for him, this remains to be seen, well then good for him. I will also say that the Democratic Party may well get what they deserve in that state too.
That’s it for now from Simple Man Politics and until next time we meet CIAO4NOW!!!!!
Last night saw some very interesting results in primaries throughout the country. With only one real important exception in Blanche Lincoln (D) AR, it was a clear message that incumbents were unpopular. Another interesting result is the fact that the big primary winners were female and conservative. I am also intrigued with the effect of Sarah Palin’s effect in the campaigns of those she supported.
Now I will admit that both Whitman and Fiorina are California Republicans, and are not necessarily as conservative as others are in the GOP. However, Fiorina along with candidates like Sharon Angle, Nikki Haley are all Tea Party favorites that Sarah Palin supported and who have won their primaries. In the case of Carly Fiorina she won over another Tea Party favorite supported by South Carolina Senator Jim DeMint.
There is no doubt in my mind that this election season is a referendum on the Obama Administration as well as both houses of Congress. Figures such as Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, (D) NV and Senator Barbara Boxer (D) CA will certainly have their hands full with Palin backed Angle and Fiorina. In addition to these contending opponents, incumbent Democrats will also have to explain their unpopular support of Obama and his agendas.
While the Tea Party may be a very vocal as well as a very visible political force they are by no means organized. There is no real main arm of the Tea Party, but a loose knit coalition of Tea Party’s around the country. They often see things pretty much the same way, but not always, which will sometimes create divisions within the movement. California primary Fiorina versus DeVore or more accurately Palin versus DeMint is a prime example.
It appears to me that Sarah Palin is certainly a driving force, in both the Republican Party and the Tea Party movement and wields tremendous star power amongst the blue collar conservatives. The fact that she is also willing to go against the GOP base and Tea Party candidates she does not support has not appeared to damage her credibility within either group. There is definitely evidence that you have a better than even chance of winning at least within your own party if Sarah Palin picks you to support.
Another Tea Party and Palin backed candidate Terry Branstad won the GOP Party nomination yesterday for the Governors race in Iowa against incumbent Democrat Chet Culver in November and is a race to watch. It is said that Iowa is one of the states that sets the tone for election politics so we will see if they see eye to eye with Sarah Palin on Terry Branstad.
I will tell you before I go that I am not a Republican but an NPA (No Party Affiliation), I am also a fiscal conservative as well as a social conservative with one or two exceptions. I do like Sarah Palin and agree with her political views 99.998% of the time. I will definitely support her candidates with one exception and that is Senator John McCain (R) AZ.
I hope you all have a great day and I will see you all again soon my friends. From Simple Man Politics CIAO4NOW!!!!!
If you ask the 89 year old legendary White House correspondent Helen Thomas it seems she would almost certainly say they are the same. At least it appeared that this might be Helen Thomas’s view during the Jewish Heritage American History Month celebration that took place on May 27th at the White House. The video with Thomas in her own words can be found at both Yahoo and RabbiLive.com, which was aired a full week after the incident.
During the celebration Rabbi David Nesenhoff approached Helen Thomas with the idea of asking for her views on Israel. During the impromptu interview Thomas stated flatly that Israel should get the hell out of Palestine and that the Palestinian people are occupied. She went on to further say that Israeli’s should return to their homes in Poland, Germany, and oh yeah…..America, indicating that the people and the Jewish state have no place in the Middle East.
Apparently Helen Thomas either didn’t know that the Jews and Israel have both been in that very region for as long as there have been other races there. It also seems to me that Thomas has no idea of the history of the Jews in Israel such as the fact that they were also an occupied people. Over the course of history Israel was occupied by Rome who ruled the Jewish people for hundreds of years. I also believe that Helen Thomas forgot the more than 6 Million Jews were murdered in Germany and Poland.
Now I have to tell you that I am a big supporter of both the Constitution and its 1st amendment. I not only fervently defend the right of individuals to freely express their personal views without persecution I also defend the same right for those in the press that is what the 1st amendment is all about. However what I will not defend is someone who is anti-semitic or racist. I am not sure if Helen Thomas is either one of these, but her comments definitely need to be scrutinized closely.
Since her controversial comments, Helen Thomas has resigned from Hearst Newspapers. Thomas has also repeatedly apologized for her comments and admits that they were offensive. The board of the White House Press Corps has not yet announced what actions they will take with regard to Thomas’s front row center seat in the White House briefing room. The board has also issued a statement that they do not police the speech of members or colleagues.
What ever else may happen to Helen Thomas because of her comments, there is this lesson to be learned. Those in the media should realize that while they may have the right to freely express their views and opinions, they would do well to remember that they will also have to deal with the consequences of their actions, for which they are solely responsible. This is often an expensive lesson to learn and all you have to do is look at the now disgraced Helen Thomas to see the cost.
That is all for now from Simple Man Politics. I hope you all have a marvelous day and I will be back again soon, CIAO4NOW!!!!!
As you all know I am somewhat of a political animal and as a result I couldn’t help boring my kids with the coverage of the Healthcare debate and vote in House of Representatives yesterday. The end of all of this culminated in my complete and utter disbelief that they actually passed the Senate version of the Healthcare Monstrosity through the Lower House.
After all of the votes were counted and guaranteed the payoffs to those whose votes were purchased we were treated to speeches by both President Obama and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. In their speeches they both indicated that they had passed this bill for the people, even though almost three quarters of the US population were dead set against the bill. The truth is they didn’t do this for the people they did it to the people.
You know I have to wonder just how great this Healthcare bill is going to be for the American people. Why would they need 16,000+ new IRS/Treasury agents because of this new bill? IS it because they know all about healthcare or is it because they know how to enforce the tax code. Yep this sounds like a very tax payer friendly bill to me, and I am sure it has nothing to do with new taxes because Obama doesn’t lie.
Since it is the Senate version of the healthcare bill that has passed I wonder if tax payer funded abortion is the new law of the land. After all the language to support using tax payer funding abortion is in this bill. Nancy Pelosi and her cohorts expect this to be repaired in the senate through reconciliation, are they crazy? The Republicans now have 41 votes and can filibuster now, and not only that but why would the senate fix the bill for the lower house when this is the bill they want?
Another big problem with the new Healthcare Bill is the language within it that supports healthcare for Illegal Aliens at tax payer expense as well. I find this to be fortuitous for the Democrats since Comprehensive Immigration Reform is the next thing they want to tackle. Unfortunately for the Progressive Left I think that President Obama may have expended all of his political capitol on the Healthcare bill and Immigration Reform will have to wait for now.
Of course now all of the Congressmen and women will have to go home and answer to their constituents for passing the government takeover of one sixth of the American economy despite the tax payer majority who were against the move. I am sure this has made the mid-term elections for them interesting because they are all up for reelection unless they are going to retire in November 2010.
Well that is all for now from Simple Man Politics, but I am sure that I will be back again soon. I hope all of you have a great week full of health, wisdom, happiness, and wealth, although I am sure that at least 2 of those things will be even less possible very soon. I will talk to you all later my friends CIAO4NOW!!!!!
I know that I have not really blogged about politics at all this year and very little near the end of last year as well, but I thought this topic worth bringing up with the mid-term elections only eight months away. The topic in question relates to an article written by Charlie Reese who has been a journalist for forty-nine years titled “545 PEOPLE”. A very good friend of mine sent me the article, which I researched, and the facts stated in the article are accurate.
(ARTICLE):
545 PEOPLE
By Charlie Reese
Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them.
Have you ever wondered, if both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, WHY do we have deficits?
Have you ever wondered; if all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, WHY do we have inflation and high taxes?
You and I don't propose a federal budget. The president does.
You and I don't have the Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations. The House of Representatives does.
You and I don't write the tax code, Congress does.
You and I don't set fiscal policy, Congress does.
You and I don't control monetary policy, the Federal Reserve Bank does.
One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one president, and nine Supreme Court justices equates to 545 human beings out of the 300 million are directly, legally, morally, and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country.
I excluded the members of the Federal Reserve Board because that problem was created by the Congress. In 1913, Congress delegated its Constitutional duty to provide a sound currency to a federally chartered, but private, central bank.
I excluded all the special interests and lobbyists for a sound reason. They have no legal authority. They have no ability to coerce a senator, a congressman, or a president to do one cotton-picking thing. I don't care if they offer a politician $1 million dollars in cash. The politician has the power to accept or reject it. No matter what the lobbyist promises, it is the legislator's responsibility to determine how he votes.
Those 545 human beings spend much of their energy convincing you that what they did is not their fault. They cooperate in this common con regardless of party.
What separates a politician from a normal human being is an excessive amount of gall. No normal human being would have the gall of a Speaker, who stood up and criticized the President for creating deficits. The president can only propose a budget. He cannot force the Congress to accept it.
The Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land, gives sole responsibility to the House of Representatives for originating and approving appropriations and taxes. Who is the speaker of the House? Nancy Pelosi. She is the leader of the majority party. She and fellow House members, not the president, can approve any budget they want. If the president vetoes it, they can pass it over his veto if they agree to.
It seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 300 million can not replace 545 people who stand convicted -- by present facts -- of incompetence and irresponsibility. I can't think of a single domestic problem that is not traceable directly to those 545 people. When you fully grasp the plain truth that 545 people exercise the power of the federal government, then it must follow that what exists is what they want to exist.
If the tax code is unfair, it's because they want it unfair.
If the budget is in the red, it's because they want it in the red.
If the Army & Marines are in IRAQ , It's because they want them in IRAQ
If they do not receive social security but are on an elite retirement plan not available to the people, it's because they want it that way.
There are no insoluble government problems.
Do not let these 545 people shift the blame to bureaucrats, whom they hire and whose jobs they can abolish; to lobbyists, whose gifts and advice they can reject; to regulators, to whom they give the power to regulate and from whom they can take this power. Above all, do not let them con you into the belief that there exists disembodied mystical forces like "the economy," "inflation," or "politics" that prevent them from doing what they take an oath to do.
Those 545 people and they alone, are responsible.
They and they alone, have the power.
They and they alone, should be held accountable by the people who are their bosses.
Provided the voters have the gumption to manage their own employees.
We should vote all of them out of office and clean up their mess!
_____________________________________________________________________________
Pretty amazing article isn’t it? When I read it I thought to myself that Mr. Reese has definitely hit the nail right on the head with regard to our nation’s problems both past and current. As a rule when I consider voting for a candidate the 2nd Amendment accounts for about 50% of my consideration. However I think this November I will take a lot of this article into consideration, because it is time to hold our elected officials to account and make them do right by us the American people.
Well that is about all I have for now, but I will be looking for more interesting stuff to bring to you all as we near this years elections. I am going to enclose in this post a list of taxes at the bottom that have only existed in the last 100 years so you can see what some of our venerable representatives have done to our nation. I hope you all have a great evening and I will see you again soon here at Simple Man Politics, CIAO4NOW!!!!!

THINK THIS IS FUNNY?
Not one of these taxes existed 100 years ago, and our nation was the most prosperous in the world. We had absolutely no national debt, had the largest middle class in the world, and Mom stayed home to raise the kids.
Look you guys it is true that Thursday's Supreme Court decision will allow Corporations to directly finance their candidates now. However it is also true that organizations such as the Teamsters and the AFL-CIO will be able to do the same. Besides as a friend of mine pointed out campaign contributions are public record, so it is easy to see who an organization supports financially.
As for the Democratic Party being the new socialists I don't believe that to be true of all Democrats, but only those who consider themselves to be "Progressives". As for lumping all conservatives together with the Republican Party I find that to be distasteful. Not all Republicans are conservatives although they might claim to be, and as an example I will use Arlen Specter who has since showed his true colors.
I for one am a Conservative who has no political party affiliation, and I would take offense to being categorized as a Republican. However if you wish to categorize me where my political beliefs are concerned, I would rather be in the category of a PATRIOTIC, RED, WHITE, and BLUE, natural born American citizen. I think that is much better than Islamic, un-naturalized, foreign citizen like someone we all know.
That is all I have to rant about today here at Simple Man Politics, but I am sure I will find something to rant about next week, so I will see you all then. I hope you all have a great evening my friends, CIAO4NOW!!!!!
For the first time in 32 years a senate seat in Massachusetts goes red for republican candidate Scott Brown. The senate seat that Scott Brown defeated democrat Martha Coakley for wasn’t just any seat either it was the late Ted Kennedy’s senate seat. I guess Scott Brown was right when he declared the senate seat the peoples seat rather than Ted’s seat, because the people sat Brown down in that seat in less than a day.
As we all know while the republicans celebrate their victory in one of the bluest/liberal states in the union the democrats are in full point the finger mode today. You have democrats in both houses of congress pointing the finger at both Coakley and the White House. Meanwhile the White House is saying that Coakley ran a shoddy campaign, while Coakley accuses the White House of not doing enough to get her elected.
In the end it I don’t think it really matters whether the White House, Obama, or Coakley were responsible for that stunning defeat for the senate seat yesterday. I think what was responsible for the loss was the fact that the radical and dangerous policies of the current administration were soundly rebuffed by the people of Massachusetts as both ineffective and too expensive. I also think that this should be a wake up call for both parties.
While it might appear that the democrats who control both houses of congress as well as the White House are the ones in trouble right now that can change fast. I believe that the peoples ire can and will turn on either party or politician who attempts to do anything that appears to both lose more jobs or result in higher taxes. Unfortunately I don’t believe that the American voters are quite finished with the democratic party just yet.
I personally believe that the fallout from the Obama' agenda has not yet ended. I think that people like senate majority leader Harry Reid, congressman Barney Frank, and maybe even house speaker Nancy Pelosi may be in jeopardy of losing their seats in the 2010 mid term elections in November. I would have thought the same thing about senator Chris Dodd, but he is wisely not seeking reelection. I personally hope that I am right about this.
I wonder how the healthcare bill is going to fare now with the 41st vote against it being elected last night. There are still a couple things that the democrats might do to try to pass a bill before Brown is seated. However I don’t think it will happen because so many democrats are now going into CMA mode after last night. I some how don’t think that the cap and trade bill is going anywhere now as well.
That is all for now from Simple Man Politics my friends, but I will be back again with more politics as soon as something else new happens, or you request that I write about a particular topic. I hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday and a terrific week, CIAO4NOW!!!!!
Labels: Democrat, Martha Coakley, Obama, Republican, Scott Brown, simple man politics, Ted Kennedy
Welcome back to Simple Man Politics and the first post of the year here as well. I know I have not written much here in the past few months and I have had my reasons. One of those reasons is that I got tired of writing about the healthcare disaster that is working its way through the congress right now. Unfortunately I find myself having to write about it again because of some recent information that has come to light.
I am obviously not a big fan of this healthcare plan that Obama and his cronies in both houses of congress are pushing, and I have been very critical and vocal about that. Don’t worry though my friends I am still very much against government run socialized healthcare, but not for just the same reasons as before, because I have found a couple more reasons to add to the long list of reasons that I oppose the healthcare plan now.
I originally opposed Obamacare because it would cost the taxpayers almost 2.5 trillion dollars over the next ten years. Another reason I opposed this healthcare bill is because of the taxes that would have landed squarely on the shoulders of an already over-burdened middleclass. I also found distasteful the idea of government henchmen coming between me and my doctor. I don’t need uncle Obama’s help to make these decisions.
In addition to the reasons I have already stated regarding my opposition to government run healthcare I can now add these reasons as well. The first new reason is Democratic Party corruption involving payoffs to certain state senators with healthcare funds and exemptions for their states from federal taxes while other states will have to pay those taxes but those of the exempted states as also. For example Nebraska and Senator Ben Nelson come to mind.
The second new reason for me opposing Obamacare is the apparent deal that the White House and the labor unions struck earlier this week. It seems that the unions will be exempted from the proposed Cadillac Policy Tax that everyone else will have to pay that has this type of insurance. Likewise Congress will not have to pay the Cadillac Tax either, but then again they have never paid for their Cadillac plan the tax payer has.
It appears to me that if you supported Obama and the Democrats in the 2008 election you get exempted from any financial responsibility at least until 2017 in the case of the labor unions. Unfortunately what this also means is the middle class, small business, and any other group who had opposed Obama during his election is going to pay in order to support the payoffs to Obama’s allies and thugs.
Last but not least I have a problem with yet another promise that our Commander-in-Grief made to the American people and that was a promise of politics unusual rather than as usual. I must admit here today that he has kept this promise although it seems to bode ill rather than well for us the American people. Politics in Washington D.C. is definitely different today from the last administration. Now-a-days politics in Washington is all dishonest and secretive with no attempt at transparency
That is all for now my friends, but I will be back again very soon. I suddenly feel the need to go wash my hands at least and, maybe even get a shower to wash off the stench that this criminal, unconstitutional, backroom thuggery has left on me while I was writing about it. I hope you all have a fantastic day and weekend and I will see you all sometime next week I hope. I also hope you like the video at the bottom of this post, CIAO4NOW!!!!!
Welcome back to Simple Man Politics today my friends. Today I want to talk a little bit about that great lie known as Global Warming or Climate Change. My timing is appropriate on this subject considering that our President is in Copenhagen right now to discuss this subject and seems more than willing to give in to their demands. This scares me considerable because they plan to hold the United States solely responsible and force us to pay a considerable sum of tax payer money to support the Global Warming/Climate Change lie.
There has recently been some illumination on the subject of the climate and the lack of real scientific evidence to back it up. Climate gate is on such truth that has recently surfaced that contradicts the science of Global Warming. It appears that some emails and documents from the Climate research Unit at the University of East Anglia have surfaced that exposes a very political scientific group. These are the same people whose research is the foundation that the Copenhagen conference is based upon.
It appears that this group destroyed records, documents, and other data that hid scientific evidence that global temperatures are in decline. These very same people also have attempted to silence their peers who have views that are in opposition to their own. These documents were also found to contain information that showed that the CRU crowd could not even reach a consensus on the subject of Climate Change. Many scientists also had serious doubts as to the accuracy of the models used to estimate temperatures just a century ago.
Then of course there is the Al Gore blunder from his appearance at the Copenhagen summit as well. It seems that during Al Gores speech he claimed that the Arctic could be totally ice free within five years. This by itself is an absurd claim, but Al Gore went even further by claiming that the numbers he mentioned were not only fresh but suggested that some of the models used to make this prediction were verified by Dr. Wieslav Maslowski who said that there was a 75% chance of this happening. A claim the good doctor denied when approached by reporters in Copenhagen while attending the Gore speech.
Luckily for the American tax payer it appears that a lot of the key elements of the deal that they attempting to make are unraveling right before their eyes. It is also a good thing that a lot of representatives from developing nations have walked out on the summit leaving the possibility of any deal being reached unlikely. Still the loony, leftist, socialist fringe who is still in attendance at the moment will try very hard to push their agenda, which is the complete subjugation of the United States to their will using Climate Change as the cudgel to beat us with.
One more thing before you consider lending any support for President Obama on this and his own Climate Change agenda. You should consider what it is that he gets out of any of this. We already know that Al Gore is a liar and only wants the money he and his company will make in the wake of legitimizing the hoax known as Global Warming. The same is true for those in the scientific community who have been perpetuating this lie. I just wonder what our esteemed Commander in Grief will wind up with.
That is all for now from us here at Simple Man Politics and I hope you have enjoyed reading this blog today. There is however one more thing that I would ask you to do and that is to view the video I am including with this post today. I think it will shed a little more light on what they hope to achieve with the Copenhagen summit. When I saw this clip I was more than a little furious with what I heard. I hope you all have a glorious weekend and a great Christmas. I will see you all later my friends CIAO4NOW!!!!!
Attempted Suicide Of The Democratic Party By Cloture Vote.....
0 comments Posted by simpleman at 7:12 PM
As of 8:00pm Eastern Time our nation is one step closer to committing economic suicide and our promised new socialist society as promised by our failing Commander-in-Grief and his politburo in both houses of congress. The democrat controlled lower house passed it s version of Obamacare a few days ago and now the democrat controlled senate has passed by a vote of 60 to 30 a cloture vote right along party lines.
While most of the democratic senators involved will tell you that this vote is just a procedure designed to move Obamacare into the senate for a full senate debate it is actually more than that. What this vote is, is one more step closer to making Obamacare a reality even though the majority of the American people don’t want it in any form. However it is what Obama wants and his partners-in-crime that run both houses of congress will commit political suicide to give it to him.
Unfortunately senate majority leader Harry Reid still has a problem within his own party that may cause Obamacare to ultimatlely fail anyway. Three of his senators and I believe they were the last three to give their votes to Harry Reid to pass cloture have all said that it doesn’t mean they will support the bill in the final vote. Their reason for not supporting the bill is a public option in any form.
Senators Mary Landrieu, Blanche Lincoln, and Ben Nelson are the Democratic Party senators who will oppose the bill if there is a public option. Without any one of their votes for the bill Harry Reid will not be able to pass the healthcare bill, which would be a stunning defeat for both Harry Reid and President Obama. Still other democrats are worried about the costs, cuts and taxes in the bill as well.
The other thing that democrats are worried about is the political fallout and backlash that they may receive from their constituents in the 2010 mid-term elections if their terms are up at that time. They have very legitimate concerns in this regard too because virtually any poll you look at from the Quinnipiac to Rasmussen says that the majority of American tax-payer and voters are seriously opposed to this healthcare bill.
I am not going to sit here and tell you all that I think some sort of healthcare reform is not necessary because I think that it is. However I will tell you that higher taxes, bigger government, and one to two trillion dollars in cost over the next 10 years are not the answer. Raising taxes on an already overtaxed citizenry is an un-recoverable disaster waiting to happen and so are the drastic cuts to medicare being talked about right now.
I think removing the anti-trust exemption for insurance companies and make it possible for people to cross state lines to purchase insurance are two good ideas. Trying to strengthen already existing programs like medicare and Medicaid are good ideas too. I also think that denying insurance the right to deny coverage or purchase due to pre-existing illness is a good idea also. Coverage of things like mammograms is also necessary.
Whatever happens as a result of the upcoming full senate vote I hope that the electorate not only holds our elected senators, congressmen, and the president responsible for their actions and their feet to the fire for the havoc this healthcare bill will wreak and the damage it will do to us both with the economy and our society. Thanks for stopping by Simple Man Politics and I hope you all have a great evening and a beautiful Sunday my friends CIAO4NOW!!!!!
Welcome back to Simple Man Politics my friends I know it has been a while. The truth is I have gotten burned out from writing about the same Healthcare B.S. over and over and over again. Plus there has been other business related to my blogs that is in the works and it has made me pause for longer than I have cared to. However I wanted to write about this today and tie in what I feel about this and the truth that ties the U.S. citizen to it.
You see everybody on both sides of the issue of President Obama bowing to first the Saudi king and now the Japanese emperor Akihito is making a big deal out of it. The truth of the matter is that it is a big deal in both the court of public opinion here in the states and the court of world opinion as well. There are a variety of reasons why this is a big deal, although I think we can expect no less from our Commander-in-Grief.
The political left would have us believe that he bowed to neither figure or that it really didn’t mean anything but was just a sign of respect. Of course they think everyone on the political right are all extremist militants intent on the violent overthrow of the Obama administration. They also believe that our image around the world is damaged and that we should put the interests of the world and the UN above our own national interest.
Those on the political right view Obama’s actions in bowing to foreign leaders as a sign of protocol ignorance at the least and the attempted abdication of our status as the worlds lone superpower and our democracy based policy goals that have made us a force to be reckoned with around the world. The right fears our nation falling under the control of an institution like the UN or a new world government because of Obama’s obvious deference to world leaders and governments over our own nation’s sovereignty.
I personally believe that if you sit back and take a very careful, considered, and intelligent look at the policies and initiatives that President Obama with the help of house speaker Nancy Pelosi and senate majority leader Harry Reid is pushing it is obvious that he is working counter to our nations needs both domestically and internationally. He is systematically destroying the United States as we know it and here are few things as proof.
One of Obama’s signature initiatives is to close down the Guantanamo Bay detention facility even though the prisoners there are treated better than our own prisoners here in the states. He also wants to bring five of those vicious animals to New York and try them as criminals with rights that are only guaranteed to US citizens constitutionally. Never mind that they are neither entitled to those rights or even any rights under the Geneva Convention as P.O.W’s since they represent no particular recognized government and were not in any representative uniform of a recognized government.
Domestically Obama has done everything in the book but what is really needed to re-right our economy. All he has done so far is bail out the banks and two of the big three automakers and nationalized them and this includes Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac. He also wants to nationalize healthcare at the cost of over ONE TRILLION DOLLARS just to insure twenty five million uninsured, half of which still won’t qualify. There is also another bill on its way to both houses of congress known as Cap and Trade. Just Obamacare and Cap and Trade alone will raise taxes and rates on US tax payers beyond the breaking point, which is what big government means and Obama supports.
When you look at all of these facts in the cold light of day the rational explanation for what is happening is the complete and utter capitulation of rights and the might of the American people to a world that with very few exceptions despises us for our standard of living, our ingenuity, and our constitutionally guaranteed freedoms such as speech, gun ownership, and religion.
For the world Barack Obama is the perfect traitor and a disgrace to the people of the United States of America and an obvious clear and present danger to our security as well. Unfortunately he was elected by a clear majority of the citizens of the United States and the only way to cleanse ourselves of his disgrace is to replace him on November 07, 2012. Fortunately we have the chance to replace Pelosi and Reid in less than a year and I can only hope that the American people are smart this time and vote for the change we need to save us instead of the thuggery as usual we have now.
I would like to thank you all for visiting Simple Man Politics today and taking the time to read this post. I can only hope that in some way I have opened the eyes of those whose eyes are closed and reinforced the vision of our nation for those who see it this clearly. I hope you all have a marvelous evening and an awesome week. I will see you all again soon my friends so CIAO4NOW!!!!!
Here at Simple Man Politics I have tried and tried over the last eight months why our current Commander in Grief was elected. I have theorized, cited fact-based analysis by experts, and sometimes I have flat out accused the fifty two percent of our population who had voted for him of outright stupidity. However in all of that time I had never come up with an analogy of the election that could explain the election results.
After reading an eye opening email that involves a teacher and her class located in the Nashville area, I now believe that I have the perfect analogy that best describes why more than half of the population of the United States voted for Barack Hussein Obama. It had nothing to do with his almost total lack of recognition, or lack of experience, or inability to explain himself. He was elected on a promise with no details at all.
Here is a copy of the email that spawned this post. Some of you may find it amusing since it involves third grade kids, and kids usually always amuse me, however if we were to substitute actual voters for the students the story would not only be very sad, but very true as well. Anyway without further adieu I now give you a summation of a mock election in a third grade classroom and the subsequent results.
________________________________________________________________________
ONE OF THE BEST EXPLANATIONS OF WHY OBAMA WON THE ELECTION From a teacher in the Nashville area "We are worried about "the cow" when it is all about the "Ice Cream" The most eye-opening civics lesson I ever had was while teaching third grade this year. The presidential election was heating up and some of the children showed an interest. I decided we would have an election for a class president. We would choose our nominees. They would make a campaign speech and the class would vote. To simplify the process, candidates were nominated by other class members. We discussed what kinds of characteristics these students should have. We got many nominations and from those, Jamie and Olivia were picked to run for the top spot. The class had done a great job in their selections. Both candidates were good kids. I thought Jamie might have an advantage because he got lots of parental support. I had never seen Olivia's mother. The day arrived when they were to make their speeches. Jamie went first. He had specific ideas about how to make our class a better place. He ended by promising to do his very best. Everyone applauded and he sat down. Now was Olivia's turn to speak. Her speech was concise. She said, "If you will vote for me, I will give you ice cream." She sat down. The class went wild. "Yes! Yes! We want ice cream." She surely would say more. She did not have to. A discussion followed. How did she plan to pay for the ice cream? She wasn't sure. Would her parents buy it or would the class pay for it. She didn't know. The class really didn't care. All they were thinking about was ice cream. Jamie was forgotten. Olivia won by a landslide. Every time Barack Obama opened his mouth he offered ice cream and 52 percent of the people reacted like nine year olds. They want ice cream. The other 48 percent know they're going to have to feed the cow and clean up the mess." Remember, the government cannot give anything to anyone - which they have not first taken away from someone else.
________________________________________________________________________
It saddens me to think that fifty two percent of registered voters that voted in the last national election and fifty two percent of the nine year old third grade children in the above mentioned class voted for a president the same way. They based their votes on a promise or promises made with no rational, intelligent, or facts about how the promises made would be accomplished.
All I can say about this is that the forty eight percent of intelligent voters both in the classroom and in our country better either raise the intelligence level of more voters to increase the size of responsible voters. Failing that they will need to figure out a way to fool the fools on the other side into voting the right way in the next two election cycles. Whatever does happen though we better not eat our dessert without a well balanced diet of brain food first.
I hope you all enjoy this post and I also hope you all think carefully and clearly about the moral of that email, because we can’t afford it twice in a row. Have a fantastic Friday and a wonderful weekend my friends CIAO4NOW!!!!!
I know that over the past twelve months things have been really tough on the tax paying citizens of this country. I also know what sucks the most about this is that it isn’t the average regular Joe’s fault. The truth of the matter is that it was bad regulation and corruption by key committee chairs in both houses of congress that started it, then corporate and organized labor greed that cemented the damage to our country.
As regular folks we all get up every morning put breakfast on the table, get the kids off to school, and get ourselves to work. We all do this with thoughts like how do I pay the electric bill or phone bill on time, or how do I make enough money to pay the expensive premiums for the insurance on my car, health, and home. In the meantime the job market is getting tighter and more demanding on us regular folk we also have to worry about losing our jobs because of downsizing, outsourcing, or going out of business.
Not one of us here who lives on Main Street ever thought of ways to get more money from lobbyists, big business donations to our re-election campaigns, or payoffs that could buy our votes, However that is how our government appears to operate. Our elected officials also seem to operate under the illusion that we work for them and not vice versa. I have to ask you just how absurd or obtuse does this sound to you the tax payer?
In addition to their obvious arrogance and I’m above the law for regular folks attitude. They also actually feel that they are entitled to the best healthcare our money can buy. Tax payer funded junkets around the world so they can go shopping. The politicians also expect blind obedience from us the masses because they actually believe that they are better than us.
Add to this disgusting mix of corruption and greed their attempts to insert more government into our lives and we that people are in serious trouble. They want to control our healthcare, which is one sixth of our economy. Tax us to death under Cap and Trade using the global warming lie as an excuse to do us in, while people like Al Gore get rich under this scheme. Not to mention take god out of the equation and relieve us of our rights to bear arms thereby giving up all of our other rights.
I am here to tell you that I fervently hope we vote out at least the worst parasites in both houses of congress in the 2010 mid-term elections. I am not limiting that statement to just the leeches on the left like Pelosi, Reid, Frank, and Dodd, but those on the right like McCain and the other RINO”S too. Maybe then we can get rid of Obama in 2012 and have a government that is of the people, by the people, and for the people.
That is all for today on Simple Man Politics. Of course this particular post is an opinion piece on my opinion, but the evidence shows what I say to be true, so I said it. I hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday and that you enjoy this post. I also hope that you will exercise your right to vote, because voting is our main weapon for keeping our government under control. CIAO4NOW my friends!!!!!
The last few months have seen a lot of hot, heavy, and intense debate on the issue of healthcare reform, or health insurance reform, which ever it is now. I can’t remember which it is they seem to change according to how President Obama’s road blocked by protesters or his mood at the time. I simply cannot wait to see which it will be when he gives his speech to congress today.
Frankly I am very surprised that President Obama would even go this route in an attempt to gain support for healthcare reform when he can’t even get his own party on board with him. Nancy Pelosi and others in the Democratic leadership of the lower house have said they would not support a bill without a public option, while other house Democrats have said they wouldn’t support a bill with a public option.
The Democratic Party is not the only opposition that President Obama is facing when it comes to healthcare or health insurance reform either. There is been a torrential flood of opposition to this bill from Main Street as well. I am talking about actual citizens whom this bill will directly affect both young and old alike. Unfortunately for the Democrats and the ram it through style these people have read the house bill.
The evidence of tax payer dissatisfaction has been obvious in many Town Hall style meetings held over the August recess, especially at the Town Hall events held by Congressmen and Senators who are members of the Democratic Party. It has not done these members any favors to have organized labor and groups like acorn astroturfing for them either. Most of these politicians know now that if they vote in support of this bill it could cost them their re-elections.
Yet none of this opposition seems to be very important to President Obama, Nancy Pelosi, or Harry Reid. All they can see is their chance to use and abuse the power they currently have because their party controls both houses of congress and the White House. They never even felt the need to read the damn bill and understand it, because the felt that they have the right to pass it whether it hurts the American people or not.
Of course President Obama will give his speech without going into specifics, but with the belief that his words alone will be enough for everyone to suddenly realize that he is right simply because he says so. Of course Pelosi and Reid will still push their own agenda’s whether they are in line with Obama’s agenda or not. In the end what we will all hear and see is business as usual in Washington, which in this case is nothing but more spending and deficits the tax payer will be responsible for
That is all for now from Simple Man Politics on this subject. I will however leave all of you with another thought and that is what kind of damage will the Cap and Trade bill do? Make no mistake that is for sure the next big fight we have against big government and out of control taxing and spending. I hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday my friends CIAO4NOW!!!!!
Welcome back to Simple Man Politics on this Labor Day holiday my friends. I thought long and hard about whether or not I should write a blog for today before I decided it was the right thing to do. The reason I think it was the right decision for me to write one today is because tomorrow President Obama is going to give a speech to children in public schools that accept tax money for their programs.
Now I personally do not have anything against President Obama addressing our children if he is promoting better education in our public schools. I also think that he could accomplish the same thing with a simple P.S.A. (Public Service Announcement) However I believe that President Obama’s original intent was not to promote better education in our public schools.
I and many others whom I know and trust believe that his original intent with this speech was to bring politics into the classroom and give him a platform from which to express his ideological views and impress them upon impressionable children through indoctrination. This is evidenced by the lesson plan that was to be attached to the speech he planned to give that required our children to write down how he inspires them and how they can help him promote his agenda.
I really don’t like the idea of our public schools being used as a political tool to indoctrinate our children with any political party ideology or beliefs. I also realize that it is almost impossible to stop this from happening considering the liberal political influence that already exists in most of our universities as well as most of our nation’s school boards which are infested with the same ideological beliefs.
As a parent I am more concerned with my children’s education than their political beliefs. I do not feel that my children need to be worried about what their political orientation is going to be right now. That is because they will ultimately make that decision when they are able to become involved in the election process. I am not alone in this belief either, because I am hearing the same thing from parents all around this country.
As far as I am concerned, if the speech Obama intends to deliver to our children on Tuesday September 8th 2009 has nothing whatsoever to do with my children’s classes then it should not be aired in any school public or private. By the same token I think that they ought to trash the lesson plan for the speech also. It is the schools job to teach my children academically and my job to teach them everything else. It is not some politician’s job to do either.
I have already instructed my children’s school that they are not to subject my children in any way, shape, or form to both the speech and the lesson plan. After I had informed the school of my wishes there was a meeting at the schools district office where it was decided that the schools in the district would neither air the speech, or distribute the lesson plan. However that may not be the decision of all the school districts in our country.
That is all for now from Simple Man Politics my friends. I hope all of you who are parents take note of this attempt by Obama to make your children’s school a political battleground and put in our two cents worth and stop it. However I also hope that this speech is nothing more than an attempt to just keep our children interested in school. I hope you all have a fantastic Labor Day, CIAO4NOW!!!!!
Protecting our country I am sure is a fulltime job, and I will bet that it isn’t an easy one either. I think that this is true considering the problems that President Clinton had doing so in his eight years in the white house. I am not being facetious in the least with this statement considering the terrorist attacks that had occurred on his watch and his only one time apparent response to these attacks as well.
Let’s take a look at the things that had happened to our country while President Clinton was in office too. We had the first World Trade Center bombing, which had happened on our own soil. There was the Khobar Towers attack in Saudi Arabia against our military personnel there as well as the USS Cole bombing in Yemen. We also had two US embassies attacked and bombed in Africa by Al Qaeda.
I am sure that after a long and intensive deliberation that a missile strike against an aspirin factory in the country of Sudan was an appropriate response for our President considering all of the attacks and subsequent deaths of American citizens that had occurred. I am also sure that having been offered custody of Bin Laden no less than three times and refusing them all was the right thing for our President to do too.
As a matter of international public record we all know what President Bush had to contend with after the 2000 election, which he won. He had to deal with the dreadful 4 pronged attack that occurred on September 11th, 2001 against the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and an almost hit on the White House that resulted in a commercial airliner going down in a field in Pennsylvania. In total more than 3000 American lives were lost
Along the way he also had to deal with a rogue criminal regime who threatened the world with WMD’s, (weapons of mass destruction) and the faulty intelligence from many sources around the world that had placed them there. Of course President Clinton had degraded our own intelligence services abilities to gather real time and excellent intelligence, but Saddam Hussein didn’t happen on his watch.
All during President Bush’s two terms in office he fought two wars. One against terrorism and a government who supported it in Afghanistan, and another against a rogue despotic regime that threatened its neighbors with unimaginable horrors and that had documented ties to terrorist groups. President Bush did everything that he could and thought necessary to fight these animals and protect our nation and people.
Of course now we have as our President Barack Hussein Obama who won the 2008 Presidential election handily. Since his election he has sought the closure of the Guantanamo Bay detention facility. He is also pursuing investigations and possible prosecutions of CIA personnel who had conducted interrogations that gave us excellent intelligence against the terrorists and stopped many more attacks against us both here and abroad.
Obama has also made overtures to rogue nations that support terrorism, such as Iran. He has also shown almost no support for Israel and its right to defend itself against the wolves that are at their door day in and day out. He even gave his first televised speech to a Muslim audience on their turf and in their press identifying himself as one of them. He also is losing the ground President Bush had gained in both Iraq and Afghanistan. Last but not least his domestic policies are a clear and present danger to our national security as well.
Now I will tell you that when it comes to the defense of our nation and people I want protection that we can believe in instead of just rhetoric. I don’t think that President Obama has given us anything else but rhetoric. As far as Bush goes you may or may not like him, but he took no B.S. from anyone when it came to defending this country from its enemies and did everything he thought necessary to kick butt. It is unfortunate for us though that he couldn’t defeat our enemies in congress like Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid.
That is all from Simple Man Politics for this week, but I will be back next week with more. Have a great day and an awesome weekend my friends CIAO4NOW!!!!!
