Expensive trips and private jets, outrageously expensive employee resort retreats, obscene financial waste and excess in the workplace, You would think that I was talking about AIG, the Big Three automakers, or Wall Street CEO’s right? Well you would be wrong I am talking about our own government and sadly I am not the least bit surprised.

How can I be surprised by anything this government does considering all of the spending and waste that has occurred since the last national election where the Dem’s took total control of the White House and both houses of congress as well? My god VP Joe Biden actually believes we need to spend even more money to stay out of bankruptcy.

Well true to Joe “The Gaffe’” Biden’s prophesy there are two more governmental agencies that seem to believe in the democratic dogma of spend, spend, and spend. Now granted in the grand scheme of monstrous government and out of control spending this will seem rather innocuous, but it still prescribes to the disease rather than the cure.

Recently the Social Security Administration spent approximately $700,000 dollars for their agents at a posh Phoenix Arizona resort under the guise of taking care of Social Security business. That price does not even include travel costs incurred by the agency to fly these reps to Arizona.

It is my understanding that all of this business could have been conducted by internet video conferencing, which would have been a lot less expensive. I also understand that this particular resort gave the Social Security Administration the lowest bid for the business but it is still more government waste.

Then there are my favorite financial wizards over at the Fed who have just hired a whole slew of cartoonists to help raise moral and lessen stress in their workplace. I wonder who the genius was that thought up this ridiculously wasteful and useless idea. I know a lot of people in stressful jobs and they all say this won’t work.

You almost have to wonder what’s next don’t you? Maybe it will be a court jester czar for the Barry and the White House staff. Or maybe it will be a stand up comedian for the senate because Al “The Weenie” Franken hasn’t been funny since they invented fire and the wheel. Whatever it is I am sure that it will provide comic relief for the tax payer.

That’s it for now from Simple Man Politics my friends. I think I’m going to call it a day and go watch the Wiggles with my son because I am sure it will relieve my stress and provide me with some comic relief. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend CIAO4NOW!!!!!

My god there is so much to write about that I really don’t know where to start or what to write, about so I am going to have to decide this with a flip of a coin so I will be right back. Well it was tails and as the saying goes tails never fails, so today’s target is none other than everyone’s favorite tax cheat Tiny Tim (Turbotax) Geitner.

Geitner really is an easy target though, because he has all of the personality, charisma, and intelligence of a pet rock. There is also the fact that he knew about things like the AIG bonuses way before he said he did. There is even a rumor floating around that he was involved in some way with AIG before they even received their first bail out.

Of course I don’t promote rumors I just report the facts and you can decide for yourself. That is why we are going to address a couple of other things that Tiny Tim is up to that I can substantiate with facts today.

One of these things is the administration and Geitners attempt to gain authority over any business they deem a risk to the economy simply by saying they may be in jeopardy and the other is the new global currency plan he favors with China.

On the subject of Geitner gaining the authority to take over a major corporation based simply on the notion that they might be in financial trouble and could wreak havoc on the economy is simply not a good idea. If this law is passed it would mean that he could take any business he wanted to without any checks and balance system in place to make him prove his position with regard to the company.

He would be able to take over a business that is operating profitably, creating jobs, and stimulating the economy for the benefit of the government. This would give the government ownership control of the business and its profits. He would not even have to prove his position, which would put any business in the bad position of losing its autonomy.

These businesses would not even being able to defend themselves against what would in reality be a hostile takeover by Geitner and the US government. The next thing you know all financial, transportation, and healthcare business would be the exclusive province of Uncle Sam and we will be on the road to the point of no return, and the same also applies if Geitner and the administration manage to globalize our currency.

The globalization of all currency as proposed by the Chinese government and supported by Tiny Tim would be another step to take us down the road to socialism. This would ultimately devalue US currency down to the level of at least 2nd world nations such as China and Russia, and maybe even lower if the global recession continues on a downward spiral.

The effect of this on our economy would truly be catastrophic to. Prices on all sorts of items like foodstuffs, gasoline, and homes would skyrocket out of the tax payers reach. Our export markets would shrivel up, while at the same time making it all but impossible to import items to the US because the cost of transporting them here would be beyond our abilities.

Our current administrations policies towards dealing with our economy are so far to the left that even those who are openly European Socialists have said that Obama and his party’s plans for our economic recovery is the road to hell. Now I don’t know about anybody else but when those people make that distinction about our President it worries me greatly.

That is all I have to say for now and I hope you all have a fantastic day. I will be back again tomorrow, CIAO4NOW!!!!!

G’day mates, I hope you all have had a great weekend. I’m sorry I didn’t post Friday but life caught up with me and I got real busy. However I’m back today and ready to go. Today I’m going to talk about the economy a little bit and the mortgage crisis and the current crisis on Wall Street. What do you say…let’s get started.

First let’s talk a little bit about the stock market. Today we saw the stock Dow close down more than 500 points on the day. The reason this occurred is because of some rather disturbing news regarding Lehman Brothers filing chapter 11 bankruptcy, Merrill Lynch selling out to the Bank of America for about half of what they were worth a year ago, as well as AIG stock plummeting 60%. As a result you have both parties screaming that the stock market needs tighter controls or more regulation which is their code for saying that the free market economy is responsible, which just isn’t true.

The Freddy Mac and Fanny Mae bail outs are yet another problem to contend with. These mortgage lenders were encouraged to make loans to low income families who other wise would not have been able to afford a home, although they were sub prime mortgages. They were encouraged to do this by the congress and as a result when the people they had loaned the money to could no longer pay their mortgages they were stuck with the notes. Then the Fed was motivated by the administration that was prompted by the senate and the house to bail them out. This also has contributed to what we are seeing on Wall Street today. A lot of the problem is also the fact that these companies are primarily run by liberals who were buying votes and using the public's cash register to further their own careers and fatten their wallets.

The President and John McCain have both said the basic fundamentals of our economy are sound and they are right, and Barack Obama would have you believe otherwise of course. Look at the facts though. Unemployment is still the lowest that it has ever been in our history, the GDP (gross domestic product) is way up, and the dollar is fairly strong. These are just some of the indicators that back up their claims that the fundamentals of our economy are strong.

With regard to the stock market according to the experts what we are seeing are offsets in the market. The market is down only 4%, so this is not 1987 crisis where the market was down 27%... there is not going to be a crash. One of the reasons the market is down 4% is because people have been taking out their profits and moving them to safer investments. Today has been indicative of a lot of money moving around the market. This is also proof that the fundamentals of our economy are still sound and that it is strong.

With regard to Freddy Mac and Fanny Mae I think the special prosecutor should get involved and go after the people responsible for what happened. They nailed Ken Lay (Enron) and Bernie Ebbers (WorldCom) to the wall and sent them to jail. I think they should do that to the people responsible for the mortgage problem too. The reason nobody is going to jail is because these are the politicians who were getting big money from these companies and the executives who run these companies. It is public record that they are mostly liberals and liberal democrats and the dems control both houses of congress right now and are not going to go after their cash cows.

Now I can’t force you to believe what I have said here today but if you do some research and not just read what the politician’s political machines have to say you will see I have told you the truth. These problems are not the fault of the free market economy or capitalism but of too much government. You all have a good day and I’ll see you again soon, CIAO4NOW!!!!!
