2 Bad Guys Against 1 Good Guy Is Lousy Odds For America But We're Tough Enough!!!!!

Yesterday saw an extraordinary political event occur on the national stage and brought to all of us by our favorite news outlets. This extraordinary event that I am talking about is the back to back speeches made by President Barack Obama and former Vice President Dick Cheney both of which were on national defense and the war on terror. Both of these speeches were in stark contrast to each other as well and immediately sparked sharp debate from both sides of the argument.
I found both of these speeches to be very well thought out and written by and for their respective speech makers. What I mean to say is that if you support the Obama position on the war on terror, closing Gitmo, and national security then his speech was just what you wanted to hear, and if you support the Cheney position then likewise he said just what you wanted to hear. As I said both sides of this argument will be talking about the speeches for a couple of days at least.
I applaud Obama for his choice of venues for delivering his speech, which was the National Archives where the Declaration of Independence, the US Constitution, and the Bill of Rights are enshrined, which are the three documents that he said in his speech he would defend. However I found the consensus that Obama was giving this speech from a position of weakness. On the other side Cheney chose to give his speech from the American Enterprise Institute and seemed anything other than weak from his position.
He also restated his intention to close down the Guantanamo Bay Detention Facility stating that it was not only illegal but a sore point with our enemies and a recruitment tool for them also. He likewise stated his position on the Enhanced Interrogation Program and its termination saying that it was illegal, inhumane, and immoral. He also said that it was a recruitment tool for terrorists also. He further stated that bringing the Gitmo detainees to the US and trying them here with all of the rights of a criminal defendant was the right thing to do under the law.
On the other side of this argument Cheney said that the construction of Guantanamo was designed to house just these sorts of animals that attacked our homeland on September 11th, 2001 and was legally developed. He also staunchly defended the Enhanced Interrogation Program stating that it was not only extremely effective, but constitutionally legal as well. Cheney went on to say that Gitmo was there so that we wouldn’t have to bring these vermin onto US soil and implied that the detainees were not eligible for the rights our legal system affords its citizens.
Now I will give you my own thoughts on this subject. I agree with Obama that he has sworn to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States of America and likewise the Declaration of Independence and the Bill of Rights and he should defend them. These documents are the very foundation, heart, and soul of our nation and its democracy, but there is little if anything else that he said yesterday, which I do agree with.
On the other hand I do agree with Cheney that 9/11 changed forever the way I look at our enemies and in particular those in the Middle East that support, harbor, fund, equip, train, or otherwise take part in terrorist activities against our country. I do not believe that they are eligible for Geneva Convention Protections because they are not a recognized national military. I will also tell you that I think we should leave them in Gitmo or put them in some more inhospitable environment where they could not survive without our assistance such as a place like ANWAR (Arctic National Wildlife Refuge or maybe Alcatraz Island, which is a federal military reserve.
As enemy combatants I also do not believe that they are eligible for habeas corpus rights or any rights afforded a simple criminal in our federal criminal court system including legal defense. I say a military tribunal is just what is needed for them. With regard to our Enhanced Interrogation Program and its apparent success in gaining intelligence from high value detainees I believe that it was not only a successful program, but legal as well and as far as water boarding in particular it was only used on three of those terrorists and with great effect. By the way their recruitment tools are nothing more than their hate of freedom and democracy.
I personally don’t care what we do to the detainees or what happens to them for that matter as long as it is extremely unpleasant. I don’t believe that animals and these animals in particular are deserving of the rights and protections of law abiding citizens of the world or of the United States in particular.
I would just as soon shoot them like rabid dogs myself personally and if I cannot then send them back to their countries of origin, but apparently we can’t do that because it would be a death sentence for most of them at least, but I don’t care if they are killed by us or their own kind. All I care about is that they never again have the ability to raise their hands against another citizen of the United States or any other democratic country.
Well that is my Friday rant for all of you to read and I hope it leaves no doubt where I stand on the issue of this nation’s defense and its enemies. I hope you all have an awesome weekend and I will be back again on Monday CIAO4NOW!!!!!

You all want to talk about a lousy deal for the American people well I got one for ya right now and both of these rotten ideas are coming courtesy of our “Commander in Grief” Barack Hussein Obama. Part one of the deal is accept the terrorists from Gitmo into your states and part two is accept the release of all criminal illegal aliens back into your communities.
I have to tell you frankly that this deal SUCKS for the American people. It is bad for us because not only are we going to import 241 of the most dangerous animals who have declared war on our nation, but we are going to put thousands more dangerous criminals back on the streets and into our neighborhoods where they can terrorize American citizens.
It is apparently not going to be so easy for Barack Obama to bring the terrorists here to the US though. It seems that most states and their residents are not to thrilled about the possibility of them coming to their states and are taking steps legally through state constitutional amendments and law making to deny them entry into their states should Obama attempt to place these vermin where they are not wanted.
It is also apparent that most states that have to deal with criminal illegal aliens on a major basis are not going to stop arresting criminal illegal’s when they commit crimes. It will be harder on them to hold them in jail or prison financially, but it appears that the arrests and convictions won’t stop for now even if Obama does cut of the aid for imprisoning criminal illegal aliens, which is what he is proposing to do.
Like everything else that Obama wants to do he is attempting to make himself popular with the world and in the court of world opinion. The reason for this is that he believes like any good socialist that he is smarter than everyone else and that he alone knows what is best for all Americans and that is to please the rest of the world. It doesn’t matter that they need us more than we need them, Barack is a good global socialist and that is the way he wants it.
Remember this my friends we need to fight these policies and the way we do that is to tell those we elected to represent us that they either oppose these idiotic policies or they will be out of a job when their next election comes around. Remember folks they and our government work for us the American tax payer and not the other way around. Unfortunately for us until they are taught this lesson harshly they will not believe we have the intestinal fortitude to carry out the threat of them losing their jobs.
That is all I have to say for today but I will be back again tomorrow when we will discuss ACORN. I hope you all have a marvelous day my friends CIAO4NOW!!!!!

There are a lot of subjects that I can close out the week with like Obama cutting 17 billion dollars out of his budget by going line by line, which aint much less than 1%. Or I could talk about Obama giving the UAW (United Auto Workers Union) The Chrysler Company, which is no big surprise. Or I can talk some more about the closing of Gitmo, which is exactly what I am going to do.
If my timing is still right President Obama only has about 7 months left out of the 12 months he designated at the start of his administration to close down the Guantanamo Bay Detention Facility and relocate 241 of the worlds most rabid terrorist animals. As of this post there has still been no executive decision as to where this scum will be going either.
In February of this year congressman John Shadegg introduced a bill (H.R. 1238) known as the “Keep Terrorists out of America Act”. The bill has the support of the house Republican leadership and it would keep all of the Gitmo detainees from ever stepping foot on US soil. I think the senate Republican leadership should get behind this bill to and pass it in its original language. Many states are looking at passing legislation that would bar this scum from coming to their states also.
Now I personally think that we should send them back to the countries that they came from thereby placing the burden of their presence on the nations that have spawned them. Unfortunately for them that would be a death sentence for the majority of these radical Islamists, which sounds good to me. There appears to be a few countries that would be willing to take the detainees but most of these nations have a strong Islamic radical presence and they would probably go right back to the battlefield once inside one of these nations.
As a result of all of this though I believe that ultimately the Obama administration and his personality cult in both houses of congress, are going to attempt to strong arm states into taking detainees inside their borders, which tramples these states constitutional rights to govern their own residents within their own borders. Of course we all know by now that Obama and company don’t care about anyone’s rights, because they only care about their power to force the American people into submitting to their wills.
Like I said originally I think we should send them all back to where they came from. However if that is not an option we should bring them all here turn them loose up in the Big Empty of Montana and have ourselves a terrorist hunting season that does not end until all 241 of these creatures are hunted down, killed, stuffed, and mounted by any tax payer that blows their brains out. I don’t know about anyone else but it sounds not only like a good idea but fun to.
That is all I have to rant about for today my friends, but I will be back next week with more Simple Man Politics just for you. I hope you all have a fantastic Friday and a fun filled weekend, CIAO4NOW!!!!!

Well here it is midway through the week and it has been a week filled with a lot of activity in the political arena. Unfortunately I believe most of it is not going to be good for our country. Although the democrats would like all of us to believe otherwise I just can’t help but feel like we are on a roller coaster ride with no brakes and a steep fall into oblivion at the end. I know, I know I sound like the doom and gloom guy Instead of Obama this time, but everything seems to be pointing me in that direction.
On Monday we had Eric Holder down at Guantanamo taking a look at the detention facility there. After his tour and meetings with the chain of command for both the detention facility and the base he said in an interview with the press that the facility was run very professionally and is doing a great job. However he also said that even though they are doing a great job hew would close the Gitmo detention facility any way, which means those wonderful terrorists could be coming soon to a prison on US soil near you. These are just the people we need right here in our homeland.
National Intelligence Director Dennis Blair also told the House Intelligence Committee that Guantanamo Naval Base should be closed just because we are not popular the world over, and those countries won’t deal with us. What I want to know is when did we forego our nation’s security just for the sake of international popularity. I guess we really don’t need our first line of defense and the warning system it is responsible for.
Of course there is also Barack Obama’s great speech before both houses of congress last night where he pled with the nation to support him and his massive spending porkulus bill. He tried to tell everyone that without going into debt to the Chinese even more and without spending billions on products not scheduled to begin before 2010 that we could not stimulate the economy now. I am trying to figure out how that is supposed to work still.
As if the first 800+ Billion Dollars wasn’t enough the lower house of congress approves another 410 Billion Dollars today for domestic programs increasing entitlements and the entitlement mentality. That’s right instead of the American people doing what they have always done, which is pick themselves back up, brush themselves off, and get back down to business the Democrats are going to save them all by doing it for them.
On a lighter note though our vaunted and fearless VP Joe Biden pulled off yet another gaffe in an interview CBS’ “Early Show”. This gaffe was in the techie field of the internet. While discussing the stimulus bill he told viewers to check out a government run website tracking stimulus spending. He did admit that he was embarrassed that he didn’t know the sites number and asked an aide if they had the number. Hmmmm I didn’t know websites had numbers. As most web savvy people are aware websites are identified by their URLs or addresses even thought hey do use a number system and are identified by their numeric IP address. I just found it funny that the most web savvy administration would have an official who thought the web worked like a telephone.
That is all for now and I hope you enjoy the Biden gaffe video. See you all later, CIAO4NOW!!!!!

Well its official folks, our brand new President has signed an executive order to close down the Guantanamo Bay Detention Facility that currently houses the illegal enemy combatants that we have captured in our war on terror. He also signed a couple of other executive orders pertaining to national security but this is the one the worries me the most, because some of the people there were involved in the 9/11 attacks while others were trying to kill US citizens and soldiers.
I guess it was inevitable the Obama would ultimately cave in to international pressure and the UN in an effort to become popular with the international community. I can only hope that he has given some serious thought as to where we are going to put these terrorists while we figure out how to try them for their crimes. These people are definitely a danger to American lives, especially if they are brought to the continental US to be held while awaiting the outcome in their cases.
Personally I believe that we should send these animals back to whatever countries they come from. Unfortunately for them and fortunately for us most of them would be executed on the spot if they were to be returned to their home countries. However being the great humanitarians that we are even with those who have attacked us, we won’t do that, although I personally don’t care what happens to those animals, because the only good terrorist is a dead terrorist. Besides, what good are they to us if we can’t get any intelligence out of them?
If we do have to house them in an alternate location I like an idea that I thought of and have heard mentioned a couple of times after I thought of it. I think we should reopen Alcatraz Island Penitentiary in San Francisco Bay. I am sure that Nancy Pelosi being the great humanitarian that she is would have no problems with having 250 plus terrorists in her own backyard. Since Alcatraz is a federal penitentiary I see no problem with holding them there with a few 21st century technological modifications and a strong military presence on the island.
Just to prove that most of those who are held in Guantanamo are dangerous to us. There is currently a report of a former prisoner of Gitmo who was released back to Saudi Arabia his home country has since found his way to Yemen and has become the number two man in Al Qaeda there. His name is Said Ali al-Shihri and his prison number was 372. I guess we did a lousy job of rehabilitating this poor misunderstood man. Yeah right, a dog by any other name is still a dog and this one is rabid.
That’s all for today my friends I will see you all next week unless something else comes up that makes my blood boil. Have a wonderful weekend, CIAO4NOW!!!!!

I’m back and ready to jump right in today, how about you? Today’s subject is going to be about Guantanamo Bay Detention Camp and its infamous guests. I have had some feedback from people who want me to discuss this topic, so I picked today for it. So let’s not waste anymore time and jump right in…we're burning daylight.
First, a little history on the naval base at Guantanamo because some of it applies to the topic we are going to discuss. Guantanamo Bay Naval Base is the oldest military base outside of the United States and inside a country where we have no diplomatic relationship with the host country. The lease was set up in the wake of the 1898 Spanish-American war, established in the 1903 Cuban-American Treaty, and its terms were modified in the 1934 Treaty of Relations. The current Cuban government considers the US presence there to be illegal, although the current government did cash one of the rent checks from the US after they came to power. The rest of the checks remain in a drawer in Fidel Castro’s office. The US government considers this a validation of the lease which also states that the lease can only be broken by mutual agreement of both governments.
Since 2002 there has been a military prison at the naval base (Guantanamo Bay Detention Camp). There were four detention camps here known as Camp Delta, Camp Echo, Camp Iguana, and the now closed Camp X-Ray. It is here that the enemy combatants (detainees) that have been captured in our war on terror are being held. They are being held here because it is not on US soil, but Cuban soil, and would not result in having to accord them the same rights as US citizens, or to give them the Geneva Convention rights accorded to legal combatants (uniformed soldiers of a recognized government), since they are illegal enemy combatants of a terrorist organization, and to guarantee the safety of American citizens by keeping them out of the United States. This was to be the location where any useful intelligence could be extracted from these individuals to be used in the war on terror. This ability has since been severely damaged by the US Supreme Court in its decision. (BOUMEDIENE ET AL. v BUSH, PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES, ET AL)
Both of our Presidential Candidates have very different points of view on the Supreme Courts' decision, although they both agree that the Guantanamo Bay Detention Camps should be closed. For more on their views there is a side by side comparison that you can read to see where they stand on Gitmo, and the detainees.
Now personally I side with the Bush administration on this one. If you’re an Al Qaeda, or Taliban bad guy you don’t deserve the same rights given to US citizens, as well as any of the rights under the Geneva Convention given to uniformed soldiers of a recognized government. As for water boarding, or what ever other method they chose to extract information from these and other members of these terrorist organizations I could care less because their sworn mission in life is to kill as many of us as possible before they meet Allah and get their seventy virgins, and for the record I realize these scumbags don’t speak for the vast majority of Muslims who practice the faith, and have condemned these animals actions. As for the US Supreme Court they should be ashamed for the decision they made and it is evident to me that the next appointee to the US Supreme Court is extremely important so that we don’t suffer any more injustice at their hands. That appointee should be a strict constitutionalist, as well as a conservative.
That is all I have to say for now, and I hope you all have found this very informative, regardless of how you feel about my personal views on this subject. Like I always say, all I can do is give you the facts, but you still have to decide for yourself. That’s just good simple politics for me. Have a great day, and I will see you all on Wednesday, CIAO4NOW!!!!!
