As you all know I am somewhat of a political animal and as a result I couldn’t help boring my kids with the coverage of the Healthcare debate and vote in House of Representatives yesterday. The end of all of this culminated in my complete and utter disbelief that they actually passed the Senate version of the Healthcare Monstrosity through the Lower House.
After all of the votes were counted and guaranteed the payoffs to those whose votes were purchased we were treated to speeches by both President Obama and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. In their speeches they both indicated that they had passed this bill for the people, even though almost three quarters of the US population were dead set against the bill. The truth is they didn’t do this for the people they did it to the people.
You know I have to wonder just how great this Healthcare bill is going to be for the American people. Why would they need 16,000+ new IRS/Treasury agents because of this new bill? IS it because they know all about healthcare or is it because they know how to enforce the tax code. Yep this sounds like a very tax payer friendly bill to me, and I am sure it has nothing to do with new taxes because Obama doesn’t lie.
Since it is the Senate version of the healthcare bill that has passed I wonder if tax payer funded abortion is the new law of the land. After all the language to support using tax payer funding abortion is in this bill. Nancy Pelosi and her cohorts expect this to be repaired in the senate through reconciliation, are they crazy? The Republicans now have 41 votes and can filibuster now, and not only that but why would the senate fix the bill for the lower house when this is the bill they want?
Another big problem with the new Healthcare Bill is the language within it that supports healthcare for Illegal Aliens at tax payer expense as well. I find this to be fortuitous for the Democrats since Comprehensive Immigration Reform is the next thing they want to tackle. Unfortunately for the Progressive Left I think that President Obama may have expended all of his political capitol on the Healthcare bill and Immigration Reform will have to wait for now.
Of course now all of the Congressmen and women will have to go home and answer to their constituents for passing the government takeover of one sixth of the American economy despite the tax payer majority who were against the move. I am sure this has made the mid-term elections for them interesting because they are all up for reelection unless they are going to retire in November 2010.
Well that is all for now from Simple Man Politics, but I am sure that I will be back again soon. I hope all of you have a great week full of health, wisdom, happiness, and wealth, although I am sure that at least 2 of those things will be even less possible very soon. I will talk to you all later my friends CIAO4NOW!!!!!
I know that I have not really blogged about politics at all this year and very little near the end of last year as well, but I thought this topic worth bringing up with the mid-term elections only eight months away. The topic in question relates to an article written by Charlie Reese who has been a journalist for forty-nine years titled “545 PEOPLE”. A very good friend of mine sent me the article, which I researched, and the facts stated in the article are accurate.
(ARTICLE):
545 PEOPLE
By Charlie Reese
Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them.
Have you ever wondered, if both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, WHY do we have deficits?
Have you ever wondered; if all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, WHY do we have inflation and high taxes?
You and I don't propose a federal budget. The president does.
You and I don't have the Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations. The House of Representatives does.
You and I don't write the tax code, Congress does.
You and I don't set fiscal policy, Congress does.
You and I don't control monetary policy, the Federal Reserve Bank does.
One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one president, and nine Supreme Court justices equates to 545 human beings out of the 300 million are directly, legally, morally, and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country.
I excluded the members of the Federal Reserve Board because that problem was created by the Congress. In 1913, Congress delegated its Constitutional duty to provide a sound currency to a federally chartered, but private, central bank.
I excluded all the special interests and lobbyists for a sound reason. They have no legal authority. They have no ability to coerce a senator, a congressman, or a president to do one cotton-picking thing. I don't care if they offer a politician $1 million dollars in cash. The politician has the power to accept or reject it. No matter what the lobbyist promises, it is the legislator's responsibility to determine how he votes.
Those 545 human beings spend much of their energy convincing you that what they did is not their fault. They cooperate in this common con regardless of party.
What separates a politician from a normal human being is an excessive amount of gall. No normal human being would have the gall of a Speaker, who stood up and criticized the President for creating deficits. The president can only propose a budget. He cannot force the Congress to accept it.
The Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land, gives sole responsibility to the House of Representatives for originating and approving appropriations and taxes. Who is the speaker of the House? Nancy Pelosi. She is the leader of the majority party. She and fellow House members, not the president, can approve any budget they want. If the president vetoes it, they can pass it over his veto if they agree to.
It seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 300 million can not replace 545 people who stand convicted -- by present facts -- of incompetence and irresponsibility. I can't think of a single domestic problem that is not traceable directly to those 545 people. When you fully grasp the plain truth that 545 people exercise the power of the federal government, then it must follow that what exists is what they want to exist.
If the tax code is unfair, it's because they want it unfair.
If the budget is in the red, it's because they want it in the red.
If the Army & Marines are in IRAQ , It's because they want them in IRAQ
If they do not receive social security but are on an elite retirement plan not available to the people, it's because they want it that way.
There are no insoluble government problems.
Do not let these 545 people shift the blame to bureaucrats, whom they hire and whose jobs they can abolish; to lobbyists, whose gifts and advice they can reject; to regulators, to whom they give the power to regulate and from whom they can take this power. Above all, do not let them con you into the belief that there exists disembodied mystical forces like "the economy," "inflation," or "politics" that prevent them from doing what they take an oath to do.
Those 545 people and they alone, are responsible.
They and they alone, have the power.
They and they alone, should be held accountable by the people who are their bosses.
Provided the voters have the gumption to manage their own employees.
We should vote all of them out of office and clean up their mess!

Pretty amazing article isn’t it? When I read it I thought to myself that Mr. Reese has definitely hit the nail right on the head with regard to our nation’s problems both past and current. As a rule when I consider voting for a candidate the 2nd Amendment accounts for about 50% of my consideration. However I think this November I will take a lot of this article into consideration, because it is time to hold our elected officials to account and make them do right by us the American people.
Well that is about all I have for now, but I will be looking for more interesting stuff to bring to you all as we near this years elections. I am going to enclose in this post a list of taxes at the bottom that have only existed in the last 100 years so you can see what some of our venerable representatives have done to our nation. I hope you all have a great evening and I will see you again soon here at Simple Man Politics, CIAO4NOW!!!!!

THINK THIS IS FUNNY?
Not one of these taxes existed 100 years ago, and our nation was the most prosperous in the world. We had absolutely no national debt, had the largest middle class in the world, and Mom stayed home to raise the kids.
Look you guys it is true that Thursday's Supreme Court decision will allow Corporations to directly finance their candidates now. However it is also true that organizations such as the Teamsters and the AFL-CIO will be able to do the same. Besides as a friend of mine pointed out campaign contributions are public record, so it is easy to see who an organization supports financially.
As for the Democratic Party being the new socialists I don't believe that to be true of all Democrats, but only those who consider themselves to be "Progressives". As for lumping all conservatives together with the Republican Party I find that to be distasteful. Not all Republicans are conservatives although they might claim to be, and as an example I will use Arlen Specter who has since showed his true colors.
I for one am a Conservative who has no political party affiliation, and I would take offense to being categorized as a Republican. However if you wish to categorize me where my political beliefs are concerned, I would rather be in the category of a PATRIOTIC, RED, WHITE, and BLUE, natural born American citizen. I think that is much better than Islamic, un-naturalized, foreign citizen like someone we all know.
That is all I have to rant about today here at Simple Man Politics, but I am sure I will find something to rant about next week, so I will see you all then. I hope you all have a great evening my friends, CIAO4NOW!!!!!
For the first time in 32 years a senate seat in Massachusetts goes red for republican candidate Scott Brown. The senate seat that Scott Brown defeated democrat Martha Coakley for wasn’t just any seat either it was the late Ted Kennedy’s senate seat. I guess Scott Brown was right when he declared the senate seat the peoples seat rather than Ted’s seat, because the people sat Brown down in that seat in less than a day.
As we all know while the republicans celebrate their victory in one of the bluest/liberal states in the union the democrats are in full point the finger mode today. You have democrats in both houses of congress pointing the finger at both Coakley and the White House. Meanwhile the White House is saying that Coakley ran a shoddy campaign, while Coakley accuses the White House of not doing enough to get her elected.
In the end it I don’t think it really matters whether the White House, Obama, or Coakley were responsible for that stunning defeat for the senate seat yesterday. I think what was responsible for the loss was the fact that the radical and dangerous policies of the current administration were soundly rebuffed by the people of Massachusetts as both ineffective and too expensive. I also think that this should be a wake up call for both parties.
While it might appear that the democrats who control both houses of congress as well as the White House are the ones in trouble right now that can change fast. I believe that the peoples ire can and will turn on either party or politician who attempts to do anything that appears to both lose more jobs or result in higher taxes. Unfortunately I don’t believe that the American voters are quite finished with the democratic party just yet.
I personally believe that the fallout from the Obama' agenda has not yet ended. I think that people like senate majority leader Harry Reid, congressman Barney Frank, and maybe even house speaker Nancy Pelosi may be in jeopardy of losing their seats in the 2010 mid term elections in November. I would have thought the same thing about senator Chris Dodd, but he is wisely not seeking reelection. I personally hope that I am right about this.
I wonder how the healthcare bill is going to fare now with the 41st vote against it being elected last night. There are still a couple things that the democrats might do to try to pass a bill before Brown is seated. However I don’t think it will happen because so many democrats are now going into CMA mode after last night. I some how don’t think that the cap and trade bill is going anywhere now as well.
That is all for now from Simple Man Politics my friends, but I will be back again with more politics as soon as something else new happens, or you request that I write about a particular topic. I hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday and a terrific week, CIAO4NOW!!!!!

Welcome back to Simple Man Politics and the first post of the year here as well. I know I have not written much here in the past few months and I have had my reasons. One of those reasons is that I got tired of writing about the healthcare disaster that is working its way through the congress right now. Unfortunately I find myself having to write about it again because of some recent information that has come to light.
I am obviously not a big fan of this healthcare plan that Obama and his cronies in both houses of congress are pushing, and I have been very critical and vocal about that. Don’t worry though my friends I am still very much against government run socialized healthcare, but not for just the same reasons as before, because I have found a couple more reasons to add to the long list of reasons that I oppose the healthcare plan now.
I originally opposed Obamacare because it would cost the taxpayers almost 2.5 trillion dollars over the next ten years. Another reason I opposed this healthcare bill is because of the taxes that would have landed squarely on the shoulders of an already over-burdened middleclass. I also found distasteful the idea of government henchmen coming between me and my doctor. I don’t need uncle Obama’s help to make these decisions.
In addition to the reasons I have already stated regarding my opposition to government run healthcare I can now add these reasons as well. The first new reason is Democratic Party corruption involving payoffs to certain state senators with healthcare funds and exemptions for their states from federal taxes while other states will have to pay those taxes but those of the exempted states as also. For example Nebraska and Senator Ben Nelson come to mind.
The second new reason for me opposing Obamacare is the apparent deal that the White House and the labor unions struck earlier this week. It seems that the unions will be exempted from the proposed Cadillac Policy Tax that everyone else will have to pay that has this type of insurance. Likewise Congress will not have to pay the Cadillac Tax either, but then again they have never paid for their Cadillac plan the tax payer has.
It appears to me that if you supported Obama and the Democrats in the 2008 election you get exempted from any financial responsibility at least until 2017 in the case of the labor unions. Unfortunately what this also means is the middle class, small business, and any other group who had opposed Obama during his election is going to pay in order to support the payoffs to Obama’s allies and thugs.
Last but not least I have a problem with yet another promise that our Commander-in-Grief made to the American people and that was a promise of politics unusual rather than as usual. I must admit here today that he has kept this promise although it seems to bode ill rather than well for us the American people. Politics in Washington D.C. is definitely different today from the last administration. Now-a-days politics in Washington is all dishonest and secretive with no attempt at transparency
That is all for now my friends, but I will be back again very soon. I suddenly feel the need to go wash my hands at least and, maybe even get a shower to wash off the stench that this criminal, unconstitutional, backroom thuggery has left on me while I was writing about it. I hope you all have a fantastic day and weekend and I will see you all sometime next week I hope. I also hope you like the video at the bottom of this post, CIAO4NOW!!!!!
Welcome back to Simple Man Politics today my friends. Today I want to talk a little bit about that great lie known as Global Warming or Climate Change. My timing is appropriate on this subject considering that our President is in Copenhagen right now to discuss this subject and seems more than willing to give in to their demands. This scares me considerable because they plan to hold the United States solely responsible and force us to pay a considerable sum of tax payer money to support the Global Warming/Climate Change lie.
There has recently been some illumination on the subject of the climate and the lack of real scientific evidence to back it up. Climate gate is on such truth that has recently surfaced that contradicts the science of Global Warming. It appears that some emails and documents from the Climate research Unit at the University of East Anglia have surfaced that exposes a very political scientific group. These are the same people whose research is the foundation that the Copenhagen conference is based upon.
It appears that this group destroyed records, documents, and other data that hid scientific evidence that global temperatures are in decline. These very same people also have attempted to silence their peers who have views that are in opposition to their own. These documents were also found to contain information that showed that the CRU crowd could not even reach a consensus on the subject of Climate Change. Many scientists also had serious doubts as to the accuracy of the models used to estimate temperatures just a century ago.
Then of course there is the Al Gore blunder from his appearance at the Copenhagen summit as well. It seems that during Al Gores speech he claimed that the Arctic could be totally ice free within five years. This by itself is an absurd claim, but Al Gore went even further by claiming that the numbers he mentioned were not only fresh but suggested that some of the models used to make this prediction were verified by Dr. Wieslav Maslowski who said that there was a 75% chance of this happening. A claim the good doctor denied when approached by reporters in Copenhagen while attending the Gore speech.
Luckily for the American tax payer it appears that a lot of the key elements of the deal that they attempting to make are unraveling right before their eyes. It is also a good thing that a lot of representatives from developing nations have walked out on the summit leaving the possibility of any deal being reached unlikely. Still the loony, leftist, socialist fringe who is still in attendance at the moment will try very hard to push their agenda, which is the complete subjugation of the United States to their will using Climate Change as the cudgel to beat us with.
One more thing before you consider lending any support for President Obama on this and his own Climate Change agenda. You should consider what it is that he gets out of any of this. We already know that Al Gore is a liar and only wants the money he and his company will make in the wake of legitimizing the hoax known as Global Warming. The same is true for those in the scientific community who have been perpetuating this lie. I just wonder what our esteemed Commander in Grief will wind up with.
That is all for now from us here at Simple Man Politics and I hope you have enjoyed reading this blog today. There is however one more thing that I would ask you to do and that is to view the video I am including with this post today. I think it will shed a little more light on what they hope to achieve with the Copenhagen summit. When I saw this clip I was more than a little furious with what I heard. I hope you all have a glorious weekend and a great Christmas. I will see you all later my friends CIAO4NOW!!!!!
Attempted Suicide Of The Democratic Party By Cloture Vote.....
0 comments Posted by simpleman at 7:12 PM
As of 8:00pm Eastern Time our nation is one step closer to committing economic suicide and our promised new socialist society as promised by our failing Commander-in-Grief and his politburo in both houses of congress. The democrat controlled lower house passed it s version of Obamacare a few days ago and now the democrat controlled senate has passed by a vote of 60 to 30 a cloture vote right along party lines.
While most of the democratic senators involved will tell you that this vote is just a procedure designed to move Obamacare into the senate for a full senate debate it is actually more than that. What this vote is, is one more step closer to making Obamacare a reality even though the majority of the American people don’t want it in any form. However it is what Obama wants and his partners-in-crime that run both houses of congress will commit political suicide to give it to him.
Unfortunately senate majority leader Harry Reid still has a problem within his own party that may cause Obamacare to ultimatlely fail anyway. Three of his senators and I believe they were the last three to give their votes to Harry Reid to pass cloture have all said that it doesn’t mean they will support the bill in the final vote. Their reason for not supporting the bill is a public option in any form.
Senators Mary Landrieu, Blanche Lincoln, and Ben Nelson are the Democratic Party senators who will oppose the bill if there is a public option. Without any one of their votes for the bill Harry Reid will not be able to pass the healthcare bill, which would be a stunning defeat for both Harry Reid and President Obama. Still other democrats are worried about the costs, cuts and taxes in the bill as well.
The other thing that democrats are worried about is the political fallout and backlash that they may receive from their constituents in the 2010 mid-term elections if their terms are up at that time. They have very legitimate concerns in this regard too because virtually any poll you look at from the Quinnipiac to Rasmussen says that the majority of American tax-payer and voters are seriously opposed to this healthcare bill.
I am not going to sit here and tell you all that I think some sort of healthcare reform is not necessary because I think that it is. However I will tell you that higher taxes, bigger government, and one to two trillion dollars in cost over the next 10 years are not the answer. Raising taxes on an already overtaxed citizenry is an un-recoverable disaster waiting to happen and so are the drastic cuts to medicare being talked about right now.
I think removing the anti-trust exemption for insurance companies and make it possible for people to cross state lines to purchase insurance are two good ideas. Trying to strengthen already existing programs like medicare and Medicaid are good ideas too. I also think that denying insurance the right to deny coverage or purchase due to pre-existing illness is a good idea also. Coverage of things like mammograms is also necessary.
Whatever happens as a result of the upcoming full senate vote I hope that the electorate not only holds our elected senators, congressmen, and the president responsible for their actions and their feet to the fire for the havoc this healthcare bill will wreak and the damage it will do to us both with the economy and our society. Thanks for stopping by Simple Man Politics and I hope you all have a great evening and a beautiful Sunday my friends CIAO4NOW!!!!!
